Impact of election on market

And Harris, who has at least a 50/50 chance of assuming the presidency if Biden wins, was complicit in the murder of a whole family while DA in SF. Not to mention the crime lab scandal.

No one was shot by rogue cops. That guy ignored police orders and reached into his care where he had weapons.

The whole idea of this election has been turned into Defund police and BLM by the Democrats. He just doesn’t have the power to do what he wants. He is beholden to the extreme lefties who have been placated to allow him to run. In other words, Biden is just a tool in the hands of the progressives who made a deal with him in exchange for Bernie dropping out. They did plant the progressive Kamala to keep watch.

So, nobody IMO should believe what Biden says.

I am not big on counterfactuals, alternative facts and conspiracy theories. By the way I tried to learn more about GOP’s platform but it seems all they say is to follow the Dear Leader for whatever he wants. I am sure it’s all well and good.

This is of course what the co-conspirator in chief wants you to believe. He was hoping that Bernie would win…and is now trying to maintain the narrative of ‘the extreme left’ with Biden. Where were Bush, Romney, Ryan and McCain (in spirit) at the convention? Colin Powell and Kasich were of course stumping for the Dems. The Republican Party is dead and has been replaced by the Angry, Bigoted Populists.

The riots happening now are largely the result of the culture of hate and division propagated by “individual one.” They will only get worse if he wins again. If the President acts like he above the law, why would anyone else feel obliged to follow it? Obama connected with BLM enough to help calm things down. If Trump wins another term we will have the French Revolution on our hands.

Are you saying this election has not been turned into Defund police and BLM by the Democrats. Is this counterfactual?

That’s your view wearing your color of glasses.

No. It has not. It has turned into that in the mind of Republicans, and it’s the right that have been peddling that.

For most people it’s just about returning to normalcy.

You are supposed to be in the Bay Area liberal bubble. Go talk to some actual liberals.

Democrats started a new industry in SFO, which has now spread to greater Bay Area by not prosecuting for crimes below($1000/900??). That’s industry in car glass repair. Our friends car visiting from out of state got their car broken in in SF within 3 mins. Same with my Tesla.

They look for utopian answers for problems and create more problems.

What has been going on in the Democratic circles since George Floyd? You saying it’s not, but the evidence is overwhelmingly otherwise.

Anyways, I don’t really want to participate in this thread, but just got pulled in to repudiate the often repeated falsehoods.

Speaking of falsehoods, one thing about that often repeated $950 crime number.

Property crimes under the value of $950 don’t count as felonies in California anymore. But you know what is the number for Texas? $2,500.

It appears California state law is stricter than Texas?

Btw, I don’t know if you still live in SFO, but IMO people living in SFO should make long term plans B/C etc.

Here is something to ponder. The average law abiding citizen probably has a half dozen interactions with police over a period of decades. Maybe a traffic ticket, auto burglaries, etc. A very small percentage of the population has very regular interaction with police. Many of these folks are unwilling, or unable to go through their everyday aspects of life without government (usually police by default) guidance. This is what happens when people with absolutely no clue about reality scream for change.

This seems to be the related law.

California law now states that smashing a window and stealing items from inside a car can be charged as felony burglary only if prosecutors can prove that the car’s doors were locked. If not, it’s misdemeanor theft.

Yeah, since there were zero riots and zero police shootings when Obama was president. Oh wait, the riots started while he was president, and he said the organization responsible was doing good work. Then we had a wave of attacks on cops the most famous of which was Dallas.

That was back when Obama was repeating the hands up don’t shoot narrative which caused the Ferguson riots. Then his own AG investigated and found that claim was completely false. Most Americans still think hands up don’t shoot is true thanks to how the media sensationalized it then fell silent when it was proven false.

Ferguson was small fry football compared to what is going on now. Obama had sufficient respect with the community to calm things down. Now we have 17 year old vigilantes with AR-15s prowling the streets. Can you honestly say the country is in a better place right now than back in 2016? It is like a fairy tale in retrospect…

I see you neglected to respond to my comment about Republican leadership being conspicuously absent from the convention. Instead we have the McCloskeys being praised for pointing an AR at protesters from their front lawn. Maybe you agree with me that the GOP is dead?

The news media is fanning the flames of racism.
Obama did nothing. Plenty of riots then. The left needs better tactics than riots. They don’t work and will elect Trump. Just like Nixon won in 1968.

Every celeb leftist victim has a criminal rap sheet. George Floyd was a convicted felon on drugs resisting arrest for a a felony.
If you are not a felon and don’t resist arrest you are not going to get shot seven times.
BLM has no integrity. They don’t protest against Black on Black crime… only police brutality. When the real brutality is created against them by their own people.
White guilt won’t help them. The black community has to rise up and police themselves. Instead they protect their criminals, won’t report crimes or testify against each other. Critics are labeled as racists. There is really nothing other people can do. Blacks must tackle their own issues, caused primarily by a vast majority of fatherless children. 64% of black children born fatherless.

He escaped to Martha’s Vineyard where he is protected by Security Service + 360 degree water + (Martha’s vineyard had a per capita income in 2011 of $2.1M) . My guess today that per capita income will be 3x of that.

For the rest of us it’s “defund the police”. He should have continued to stay in South side of Chicago and then supported “Defund the police”.

Your memory seems to be failing you.

I guess some people prefer unchecked rioting and massive destruction. People should just sit by and let it happen.

“The number of black and unarmed people fatally shot by police has declined since 2015, but whether armed or not, black people are still shot and killed at a disproportionately higher rate than white people,” The Post wrote.

The rate is higher based on percent of the population. If you base it on the race of suspects from crime reports, then it’s exactly in line. Despite all the perception the number of unarmed black men killed by police has declined while a Trump is in office. Even WaPo has to admit it.

You’re right. And that does not imply police are racists. If they were racists, Asians would be shot at a higher rate than whites.

The easy explanation for that is Blacks come in more conflict with police because of their socio-economic status which results in those large numbers. But Dems have been brainwashed to say police target blacks. That is like saying America targets Muslims, when they are targeting Taliban/Al-Qaeda.

Police are trying to find bad guys and higher percentage of them come from lower social-economic status who happen to be black which in turn causes them to profile(implicitly). Most people profile(subconsciously), else there would not be any diversity training at even Tech Cos. People who say they don’t profile, are probably PERFECT in every way.
