I remember reading somewhere Obama and the Democratic Congress knew Obamacare will kill them in midterm. They have done polling and the results were very bad. But they pressed on anyway, reason being what’s the point of having a majority if you don’t use it for the one policy goal you are after the whole time? On the night of voting some members bid farewell knowing they won’t come back for the next term.

Trump would never do something like that.

trump is not about trade war, he wants free/fair trade, trade war is to achieve those goals

Who is the judge for fair?
Free trade is an unfair trade in case you are not aware. It biased those who happen to be there first and forever suppress the late developers.

Fair trade to us is whatever deal going toward our favor. The losing team always not fair. Renters always think they’re not fair

Renters can be winners. Landlords don’t always win.

Yup. But they always think us as scumlord haha.

Cill de Landlord… I get it . Tenants have the same contempt for us as we do for government. Everyone hates da Man.

Dark and lonely on the summer night.
Kill my landlord, kill my landlord.
Watchdog barking - Do he bite?
Kill my landlord, kill my landlord.
Slip in his window,
Break his neck!
Then his house
I start to wreck!
Got no reason –
What the heck!
Kill my landlord, kill my landlord.
C-I-L-L …
My land - lord …

They sold their soul to big pharma to get the lobbyist pressure dropped to pass it. They didn’t care that they passed something that didn’t achieve their goal of lowering cost and still left millions uninsured. They tried to claim victory, and the public was smarter than that. There’s a reason they delayed the impacts until after the 2012 presidential election.

No one wants to talk about how Obamacare hurt Hillary. She was a vocal supporter of it. People received their increase notices just before the election.

Majority supports Obamacare now. Maybe losing health care under Trump finally wakes people up. Taking away other lazy poor people’s insurance is great policy. Taking away mine is not.

I’d love to see why they support it. I’ve shown plenty of surveys where Americans are wrong about basic facts. There’s also a survey that shows a majority of millennial prefer socialism, but on other questions they couldn’t even identify what socialism is.

To millennials it is the same free shit their parents give them. I guess they think Uncle Joe Stalin was a philanthropist :sunglasses:

At best they can hope for Swedish socialism where everyone is expected to conform. Won’t go over well for people they won’t even clean their own room.

I can’t believe you still believe in polls/survey
small sample size, how they pick the sample, so easy to manipulate

I use Obamacare. Obamacare doesn’t mean free care or even government subsidy. There’s a price tag attached to using that service. It’s great for people like me who don’t rely on an employer to subsidize their healthcare.

I bought my healthcare on the open exchange too. It’s great for entrepreneurs. Coupling healthcare with jobs is the worst idea ever. Many people don’t want to walk out from their job and start a business because they fear they will lose coverage.

Market exchange for health insurance is a good idea. I think that’s not the key aspect of Obamacare. Market exchange can be done by private enterprise.

The benefit of a healthcare insurance exchange is ease of purchase and transparency. Insurance is still provided by private company

Something CSLT should look into. No idea why they’ve only focused on employer coverage to date; probably extremely difficult to break into due to all the regulations.

CSLT is not about insurance, they are not even a marketplace. Just a niche play to estimate how much doctor or hospital will charge.

Most non-employee people only care where to buy health insurance and which insurance plan is the best or most suitable. Almost no one will care which doctor or hospital charge less. All I care is which doctor is the best and which hospital is th best. Cost should be a taken care of when I choose health plans.

In Canada or Europe, do hospitals charge different rate for the same procedure? Do good hospitals charge more than average ones?

That’s why they should look into it instead of sticking with a niche play.

Building a health insurance market place is not easy.

Even for car insurance, there’s no central marketplace and too many agencies are handling them inefficiently.

Home Insurance should be the easiest target to do standard marketplace but still insurance companies refused to have one.

Is it better to have an ObamaCare plan for home insurance? Give a standard pricing for the same metro area and no one needs to shop around and government will make the choice for everyone

You could buy insurance on your own before Obamacare. That didn’t create anything new. I don’t know anyone who’s paying less on the exchange unless they qualify for Medicaid or subsidies.
