This is actually my first time posting about stocks here and honestly just wanted to get some opinions from people with more experience than me
I started buying INTC around last August with an average around $19. At first it honestly felt similar to how a lot of people viewed SMCI a month ago just buying a heavy dip and seeing if the market overreacted
Over time I did some basic research myself and a few things gave me more confidence like the management changes government support and the overall narrative around rebuilding domestic semiconductor manufacturing
I actually sold once around $26 but later got back in through INTW the 2x long INTC product around $37
It has been about 6 months now and at one point the position was up over 900% which honestly even surprised me a little and I still have not sold a single share
Now while I am literally typing this post the stock is down more than 9 percent today so I am seriously thinking about what makes the most sense from here
Right now I feel like I have 3 choices
1 cash out completely and move on to the next idea
I have been looking a lot into space optical communication and rare earth related names lately
2 trim maybe 50-80% and let the rest ride
3 stick with my original thesis and hold at least through June maybe even toward the end of the year
Tbh… money itself is not really life changing for me and this gain feels more like adding another nice bottle to the wine cellar than anything else so emotionally I probably lean toward option 3
That said I am definitely not a professional trader and I do not trade full time either. Trading is more of a hobby for me and I have only really been active in the market for around 6 years
I know a lot of people here have gone through way more market cycles than I have so I would genuinely appreciate any thoughts especially around risk management position sizing or how you would handle a winner like this
Thanks in advance ![]()
