Interesting view into the job market: normally there are a number of larger companies that recruit interns from University of Waterloo’s coop program but this summer, there are only a handful of companies (so far). Not the FAANG ones that normally hire coops. Anyone know which companies around here are still offering summer internships for college students?
Hate to say it - but this year is going to be bad for new grads/interns. My employer is not rescinding offers for new grads but there are other firms who did. And I wouldn’t be surprised that this is cascading into the lower intern recruitment too. I’d suggest trying for internships within university research centers/labs or in non-tech industries this year.
