So, would traditional colleges become vocational schools, sort of? Shouldn’t that be what colleges are for, to train our future generations for the jobs that are in demand? Is this the invisible hand of the marketplace coming up a creative way to address the high costs of college and trying to make it really focused? Just throwing stuff at the board again to see what sticks…
It’s hard to justify spending $100k on an education that doesn’t lead to a good paying career. I think you’d see far fewer colleges. The thing people don’t realize is even in countries with “free” college not everyone goes. Some of them have a lower percent of people graduating college than the US.
I agree with you, but who doesn’t know or have children or nephews/nieces who are majoring in some dubious subjects that probably won’t help them land jobs right after earning that undergrad degree? I am sure there are plenty of parents here who objected to what their kids wanted to study, but it is their lives right?
A success story about how a failing school was able to turn it around…
No wonder people moved to the burbs, for the inflated grades!!!
Would be interesting to know what’s really going on in Temecula. One article said that the textbook being referenced doesn’t mention Milk anyways…
