SF City Real Estate Advice Please

@manch, I was going to commit to six months, but can choose new location starting 1/1.
@britt522, not for my chosen start and end dates and price range (up to ~$3500 for 1BR).

You should spend the time to do more research. There are many short term furnished rentals in San Francisco. I would not rent in the places you mentioned. Find a better neighborhood with shops and restaurants. Take the bus or uber to work. You can search craigslist for furnished rentals. There are also several executive suites type rental companies. Here are two links I found. #202 Furnished ONLY One bedroom one bath in Laurel Heights/Presidio... 1 Bedroom — International Executive Rentals

Thank you. Any particular reason you would rent in neither of these places? There are shops and restaurants near both, but maybe not good ones? Appreciate the help.

They just aren’t great locations when you look at all of SF. Read up on the neighborhoods.

Google “san francisco neighborhoods” San Francisco is unique in that it has a lot of different neighborhoods and each one is kind of like a small town. I don’t know how old you are or what interests you. I would classify the 2 areas you listed as “Seedy”. There are better, more desirable neighborhoods for less rent. If it was me I would spend hours on the internet reading about everything before I made a decision. I have lived in SF for 40 years but now I am ready to move away. Two more links.

As others noted, don’t think you need an AC but if you are dead set on it you can get those portable ones.

How do people feel about the intersection of Sacramento & Webster in (Lower?) Pacific Heights?

That is a very nice area. Fillmore Street has nice, more upscale shops and restaurants. There is Alta Plaza park near there. North of Geary Blvd is much better than South. Geary Blvd is a major transit route and has express buses (fewer stops) to downtown. You can buy a monthly pass for unlimited use.of all buses.

Thank you. I’m going to go with it.

I think that is a good choice. It is away from the congestion of downtown but not too far. It is a central location to everything in SF. The weather is good there as it gets very foggy and cold as you go farther west towards the Pacific ocean.

:+1:

yes way better location - you’re a block from salt and straw too - mmmmm ice cream. as well as fillmore street which has great restaurants and shopping

Avoid the mountain lion neighborhood.

:scream:

Russian developer killing it in Tahoe with modern mountain rustic design. Cranky old fart neighbors hate this style. I like it. Definitely European influence. Sauna is cool.
