Trumpâs Tariff policy doesnât make sense unless he intends to re-create 1930s condition which led to WW and then USA became the only nation unscathed, budget surplus and factory workers can afford 1-2 SFHs and 2-4 cars. All nations are devastated and need to buy manufactured stuffs (at exorbitant prices) from USA to rebuild their nations.
The biggest issue in USA Today is over-consumption by Americans. I canât see how Trumpâs policies can solve this. IMHO, other issues are consequences of the over-consumption and not the causes.
.
This is scary. Eventually USD would lose its status as the only reserved currency that every nations keep in their reserve. Once that happen, USA would no longer able to keep its superpower status.
Closing in on having a plan of a plan.
Itâs always going to end like this. Some vague promises that allow Trump to claim victory but donât change anything for real. Trumpâs cult base is too brainwashed to know any better. They will cheer his every move.
.
Did this number include returning of Boeing airplanes, stopping purchase of soybeans and banning sale of H20s? If not, next quarter deficit will be worser.
I think itâs a bit too early. Trump might have seen some advance numbers on econ metrics like GDP and they must be super ugly. That prompted his softer tone yesterday. But I think he may still drag his feet lifting the 145% Chinese tariff. The man is driven more by ego than good sense.
But he canât afford to drag on for too long. Economy is deteriorating fast. Already the back to school shopping season may be toast. Shelves may be half empty by August and prices likely much higher. Drag on for too long and Christmas shopping may be shot too.
IMO recession is baked in by now. Only question is how deep and how long.
Likely due to the Obama/Biden war on extractive industries. The county I live in was 2/1 Democrat to Republican in 2008. That has since flipped to 2/1 Republican. Obama and then Biden destroyed all the the paying union jobs. Those folks used to vote Democrat.
Coal is a small part of the whole picture. Timber, copper and many other extractive indutries have been forced out of the US by government regulation.
And Iâd love to see actual DATA showing automation destroyed jobs.
Ever.
