Business can’t sustain high margin forever without innovation. Someday some product is going to replace the iphone. Apple could be left with nothing if it failed to innovate.
New IPhones aren’t innovative. Apple needs to come out with a new disruptive technology or $90 is more likely than $200.
Absolutely. Houses would also need to be furnished with disruptive technology or $900k is more likely than $2M.

If SF sends its homeless to PA it could happen
My mom saw a homeless screaming and pooping in front of Marriott on Mission St today. That’s SF tourism for ya.
What’s so surprising? Everyone’s seen beggars before in their lifetime. Those who are afraid of beggars shouldn’t even be traveling, as they are everywhere all over the world.
People are surprised because SF is supposedly a world class city so presumably the homeless situation would be under control, but it’s getting worse by the minute.
SF a world class city? Really? I still remember how disappointed I was first time I came.
Hey I was on the same boat as you were in terms of disappointment. People who’ve never been here before, especially the tourists, painted this rosy picture that was more dream than reality.
The Stupes don’t want videos of cops hauling these people away. But it is the only solution. They are committing crimes. Should be arrested and jailed or treated. And then given housing in a affordable area like Fresno.
So why are you still here?
And why are you still here and trying to buy another home too!
OMG… poor Fresno again… need to house all the unwanted from the Bay Area…
Yet…you moved here (how bad can it be then?)
Proud SF Native
Finally, someone spoke genuiently…
SF is not world class, but who says I like to live in a world class city?
Come on… we all know you too well… if you don’t like to live in a world class city then why are you aspiring to live in Palo Alto?
Palo Alto is a city? I always think of it as just a college town. And I like small college towns.
So when are you going to go shopping there?
Tesla is innovative and already has low margins. What happens as BMW, Audi, etc release electric cars to compete with them? Margins will go even lower. The car being electric doesn’t change the fundamentals of the industry. It’s a low margin industry. Everyone thought Tesla was a magical tech company and immune to the low margins of automotive. It turns out they aren’t, so why are they worth more than any other car company? They still need to raise tens of billions to scale manufacturing to compete with the big players. The other players already have the manufacturing scale, similar gross margins, and are profitable.
