Tesla’s trillion dollar valuation is fast approaching

I did not read the article as saying Tesla’s advantage will vanish overnight. I read it as saying Tesla is heads and shoulders above the competition right now and in that scenario it’s sometimes difficult to see how quickly new competition will arise. The Netflix analogy was quite apt in that sense - Netflix didn’t lose its advantage, it just has a lot more competition now.

And, yes, you are right that the market itself will be growing so it won’t be a market share battle for the next decade or so - it’ll be a growth race.

Really good counterpoints to ARK analysis here!

Graduated in 2001. A millennial ofc. Can trust his love for TSLA but can we trust his analysis of the business? He knows some1 in TSLA?

The only advantage of Tesla over competition is the regulatory credits. about the rest it is laughing matter.

I would trust a millennial graduated from MIT over a grey beard. The world has changed a great deal and the rate of change is picking up.

Tesla doesn’t need to worry about a loser company like VW. Anyone remember how VW tweaked its software to lie about their emission? That seems to be the end of their software skills tho. I’d give GM a much better shot among the traditional auto players.

Don’t conclude too early. Loser companies like WMT, TGT and COST manage to stall the rise of AMZN in the retail arena. Loser company like MSFT manages to rise from the ashes to stall the rise of AWS.

Revenue of AMZN continues to grow but its share price is going nowhere. Take note, share price going nowhere while its business is booming. Business is booming, share price going nowhere.

Your time horizon has turned so short nowadays? BTW I wouldn’t say any of the companies you cited above as loser companies.

.

How much time do I have on this earth?

Did you miss the part on “share price is going nowhere while business is booming or business is booming and share price is going nowhere”? Market is correct. Do you know why I say that?

If I have to bet, VW will emerge the strongest in EV pivot amongst all traditional auto makers. Not saying better than Tesla, saying better than every other established ICE carmaker.

Market is correct, but only in the long run. I fixed your chart for you.

Put your money in Toyota. Hybrid kings that know that pure EV is bullshit.

The beauty of the market is that we all can bet on our favorite horse. I have a thing against European tech so I naturally don’t think so.

VW strength is due to China. Audi and Porsche have strong brand identity they are part of VW group.
I would think Koreans will be the next big one. They have there own battery and auto chip technology and have built research relationships across Europe. Koreans are going to beat Japanese big time unless China rescue Japanese.

Exactly but you doctored the starting point. Do you know what you are doing?
AMZN surprised everybody.
Later (start point used by me), they woke up and started challenging AMZN.
You shouldn’t mess the starting point used by me since they are the time when people woke up. To see the picture in the future, use your almanac.
Do you need more lessons like this?

Too old by a few years to be a millenial

Agree that Kia/Hyundai have made good strides towards EV pivot.

Nissan is the only Japanese company that started down the EV pivot but their early attempts (Leaf) have actually caused more harm than good to their image on EV front. And Nissan is going thru turbulent times as a company with internal turmoil. Other Japanese automakers are waaay behind the curve on EV pivot.

I don’t think you are betting on any auto-maker afaik - American, German, Japanese or otherwise!

I will buy TSLA if it fell to $420. :innocent:
