The Mismatch Between High Tech and Higher Ed

I wonder if college will become obsolete for tech. Companies like Udacity could completely change the game. I was blown away when their CEO said they don’t have to pay instructors. Companies pay them to let their employees teach the courses. That way the content is relevant, and they can pick up the best students to hire. That’s a completely game changing business model. Let’s face it. Are the humanities and social sciences classes really going to make people better programmers? If anything, there should be more business classes for engineers.

Food before freedom.
Liberal Arts should push hard for a high quantum UBI e.g. allow you to buy a 3/2/1 SFH, if they don’t want to work.

Interesting, they are announcing it in Detroit.
