Where’s the evidence for this? Retail theft down 40% from 2018?

Also, look at Chesa’s case filing rate. His 2021 rate is significantly higher than 2020. I’d conjecture the recall campaign had an effect on him, even though it ultimately failed. San Franciscans made it known to him we don’t like his style and he needs to do take his DA job seriously.

Does this guy understand the graphs he posts?

I didn’t verify all the graphs. I didn’t get what you found in the graphs wrong?

The total organized retails thefts has sky rocketed. That’s the Y-axis on the left.

got it. My understanding is, organized retail theft has increased but he used that data to show business do report thefts. Overall retail theft has decreased from 2018, though. I didn’t dig deeper yet.

Here are some stats:

Retail theft is indeed down, but burglaries and auto thefts are up. It’s a mixed picture. Not as rosy as the guy on twitter would like us to believe.

Ultimately DA’s job is to prosecute criminals. If evidence is there it should not be his call to let them go free.

Um, 2020 was almost 4x higher than 2018, and that’s with covid closing businesses.

Also massively underreported auto break-ins. Probably only 25% reported.

At the mid market “dead zone”? Cool. The more the merrier.

This guy is the reason there is rent control in SF in the first place, right?
