Thoughts on San Francisco

Does it come with an affordable price like starting from 1.5 Million?

This is a free country. If people want to buy this, why the heck not? Obviously developers know there are buyers before going into a big project like this.

How much? Parking? HOA fee? Not a lot of condo buyers on this forum. HOA fees in SF are outrageous.
Definitely not affordable housing.

Looks like it will be around 600K. Dunno about HOA.

for 600 k, one can get a SFH (till they still can be had in CA) in trans Altamont. No HOA, No parking fee at least for now.

What is the name of the complex. Their decorating is ridiculous… appealing to millennials?. I remember one condo complex in Sunnyvale decorated with hanging bikes, used pizza boxes and a banana peel. Same stager?

They are targeting young people obviously.

The are affiliated with Line Hotel. Are these condos or condotels? Short term tenants allowed?

I wonder if you can get a loan for Serif. Hotel rooms and condos.

That’s not bad especially if it has a fitness room, pool, and parking.

I would never survive in something that small, but if you’re single, working full-time and eating at your workplace, it makes sense. Alternately, there are couples with an apartment in SF whose primary home is outside SF. Commute in on Monday, go home on Friday.

" Other amenities include…

Landscaped rooftop solarium with bar, lounge seating, and recreational outdoor space

Private dining room featuring chef-grade kitchen for private events

Fitness center with yoga room and state-of-the-art fitness equipment

Pet spa, washing area, and rooftop dog run

Secure underground parking

24/7 lobby attendant

Controlled access and fob entry doors with intercom system

Bicycle parking and storage with controlled access"

Sounds like a lot of fun for single young people. Kind of like a college dorm but more luxurious.

Instead of buying this, one can build an ADU of the same size (400 sq ft) for 1/3rd the price - $200k

Another new built in SF:

The development, a 495-unit apartment complex with about a quarter of the units reserved for “affordable” units as required by affordable housing mandates, was proposed on a parking lot at Stevenson and Sixth streets near the Powell Street BART station.

But a majority of supervisors voted down the proposal, yet another flashpoint in the so-called “NIMBY vs. YIMBY” debate over development — an issue that has roiled one of America’s priciest cities to rent and own housing.

Of the 11 sitting supervisors, the three who supported the development are District 6 Supervisor Matt Haney, District 2 Supervisor Catherine Stefani and District 11 Supervisor Ahsha Safai.

Need to vote these bums out.

The vote was clearly a major victory for TODCO, the powerful South of Market affordable housing owner that appealed the project to the Board of Supervisors. TODCO spent four years lobbying against the development, enlisting former Supervisor Jane Kim to help organize opposition. Other SoMa groups backing the appeal include United Playaz, West Bay Pilipino Multi Service Agency and South of Market Community Action Network.

This is at least partly about punishing Matt Haney for running against Campos,” he said. “They see it as a betrayal.”
