Trading wars impact

Amazon? I would kind of be happy if google did it.

Nest, assistant, irobot woudl at least have a good theme, and a bunch of homes already have roombas.
Though we probably wouldn’t be able to manage it - we are not known for our good hardware business.

Join robotics team, convince buddy to persuade Larry to spinoff as a sub. Call it Tomato Inc

First product: Robot tomato chopper.

Where did the magical 240k number come from?

You should already generate a cash flow bigger than that from RE alone.

Cash flow from stocks is hard.

That’s @tomato’s base salary. Is your base salary any higher than his?

That’s my assumed salary  and assumed comp

Cashflow? Do you mean gross rent? I doubt wuqijun got $240k p.a. cashflow from his rentals.

Tomato is a top 1000 engineer at Google. He makes 800k a year.

Include RSUs? How do you compute worth of RSUs? At the point of awarding? At current price of RSUs vested that year? Is much easy to guess the range. Is kind of standard in the industry.

Range of L6-7 and SM to SD
Base varies from $150k-$300k
Target bonus varies from 20% to 150%
RSU varies from $150k to $2M at point of awarding

You guys keep estimating

The EU tariff against US just went into effect today. And Trump is doubling down:

Deadline with China is about two weeks out. No sign of Mnuchin or anybody high up talking on the phone with the Chinese.

Those numbers can’t work here. Too many indicators that there is significant resistance to spending 200k extra to get a primary.

Your point is? Recession and deflationary of house price soon?

Making housing decisions based upon macro economics and geopolitical issues is pointless.

You and I aren’t that connected or smart.

Primary house only.

for cars:
o EU duty on imports
from the US is 10%
o US duty on imports
from the EU is only
2.5%

The German automakers are already saying they’re OK with making tariffs 0% in both directions.

US is not the innocent Snow White on trade. Ever wonder why most pickup trucks are American brands?

Lol

Ford (ostensibly a company that the tax was designed to protect), imported its first generation Transit Connect light trucks as “passenger vehicles” to the U.S. from Turkey, and immediately stripped and shreded portions of their interiors (e.g., installed rear seats, seatbelts) in a warehouse outside Baltimore.[1] Mercedes imported complete vans built in Germany, “disassembled them and shipped the pieces to South Carolina, where American workers put them back together in a small kit assembly building.”[8] The resulting vehicles emerge as locally manufactured, free from the tariff

Trump is profound - profoundly stupid. He knows nothing about economics and surrounds himself with equally ignorant people.

I learned about the chicken tax from this old episode of planet money.
