That’s called multitasking. Good for them, good for their health. Question is whether they’re playing videogames when they’re supposed to be working.
A “flat” management structure like yours doesn’t work because of math. Without layers a tree can’t hold that many nodes.
A tree with L layers, each with N nodes, can hold around N^(L-1) people. In a large org with 100k people, if each manager has 20 reports, only needs 5 layers.
So you will have manager managing manager managing manager.
If you only allow 3 layers, each manager will need to have over 300 reports.
.
Illustration. Not every function/ product line uses that.
Ultimately it’s still limited by basic math. Your org using flat managerial structure has to be relatively small. You can’t scale.
The military is the most hierarchical structure in the world, partly because they have millions of people to manage.
.
Don’t understand what you are saying. Did you look at trees at great detail? Too many subbranches, the main branch break easily under its weight or during a storm. There are new branches starts off from the trunk. In a branch, there are subbranches with many subbranches, few subbranches and only leaves. As the tree grows taller, need more branches from the trunk, not more subbranches.
So using a tree as an analogy, the number of layers should be limited.
But I was told Elon is a genius and if I disagree with the man in any way that only could mean I am a loser and a hater.
Musk is classic example of someone who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing. He sold Tesla to buy Twitter. Same a a selling prime property ti buy useless desert land aka Texas just because it’s cheap
Musk may need to sell some more TSLA shares to finance his Twitter obsession.
More than half of Twitter’s top 1,000 advertisers stopped spending on platform, data show
I wonder where those advertisers are spending their money instead.
Free speech
He spent $44B to have this tweets show up first in everyone’s feed. Amazing.
Clowns remaining in Twitter doesn’t deserve him as CEO. So he would soon appoint a dog to lead these sheep and goats.
Money can’t buy you love.
Is Musk a Genius now?
OR
Is Zuckerberg a moron now?
The guess reconciling the answers to these 2 questions will be a tough one for some people.
Where is the bird? Whoa!
Please advertise on Twitter. However, thou shall not advertise my cars.
