Utah home valued at nearly $1B after 'horrific' typo and taxpayers may pay for the mistake

Have you mailed in your property tax yet?

A 1,570 square foot home in Wasatch County built in 1978 was recorded on 2019 tax rolls with a market rate value of more than $987 million. In reality, the value should have only been a modest $302,000.

The Wasatch County assessor says the error occurred when a staff member may have dropped their phone on their keyboard.

City Utah had spent it :scream:

WTF? And no one said “I wonder why we have so much more money???”

Don’t ask, don’t tell. Just spend every single cent of it.

The conspiracy is the error is intentional :grinning:
