Folks are worried about rising interest rates. Apparently mortgages are short term in nature here (you can choose to have some or all of your mortgage in slices across terms) and there is fear here that lots of folks will be hit with higher interest rates in part or full when they refinance next year.
Queenstown proper is too touristy. Hate it. The surrounding hills have great houses though.
