The definition of pandemic is not based on the number of deaths, but how infectious it is. If the shutdown of a supply chain country is not doom and gloom I don’t know what is.

Why not send equipment, supplies and support personnel to them if we don’t think what they have is adequate? Seems a whole lot safer and easier.
If I was traveling and picked up a highly contagious disease I wouldn’t expect to brought back home until I was no longer contagious.

It’s not that contagious. If it was, entire factories would have caught it. If it was, putting one person with it in an airplane full of people would have resulted in most people getting it.

IIRC, A doctor told me that all US quarantine facilities are equipped properly not to infect external people, they have special exhausts at quarantine facilities to treat the outflow of breathing air so that it does not affect others. Even Doctors and Nurses are properly equipped not to get affected by the patients.
If the ship has similar Medical quarantine facilities, may be quarantine available, it would have been better .
Airplane is controlled oxygen and controlled air circulation, while ship is open air. They would have reviewed already and brought them through ship.
The entire ship was quarantined to their individual rooms while ship staff brought them food. Medical staff also went around checking on everyone. The ship didn’t have quarantine facilities.
Airplane recirculated over and over. On a long flight from Japan, any airborne illness would infect everyone on the plane. It didn’t. It’s not that contagious. We put infected people on commercial flights back from Japan.

Well the one Thai resteraunt in Payson is still doing a brisk business. I guess no one worries about coronavirus making it to a place cable can’t even make it to. And next month we get our first ever Sushi joint. Yeah! We have one Chinese resteraunt but it’s awful. Folks avoided it like the plague even before we had a plague.
