Worldwide Baby Bust

.

I am not blaming the women. Just stating an observation. Did you learn logic in schools?

Those who agree with you have similar issues with logical thinking :face_with_hand_over_mouth: (just wake up  so a bit combative  )

Suggestion: In figuring out what is the situation, should not be biased and drop all prejudices, state a fact as fact, state an observation as an observation, donā€™t judgeā€¦ donā€™t judgeā€¦ Let the evidence tells you what is going on.

From your comment, I sense that you agree with my observation :+1:

Now that you agree with the observation, can you list out some consequences? Remember, be neutralā€¦ drop pre-conceived ideasā€¦ weā€™re not judgingā€¦ just listing out observationsā€¦

.

Intentionally misrepresenting the real life observation. Be honest. Be neutral. Please rephraseā€¦
My observation is female college graduates like to marry men of equal or higher education level. Men prefer equal or lower.

Remember we are still in the figuring out the situation. Donā€™t judge. Let evidence tell us what is going on. Once we can reasonably figure out the situation, we could then suggest possible remedies to achieve a certain goalā€¦ remember remedies are goal-dependentā€¦ so donā€™t say a remedy is bad or goodā€¦ remedy is neutralā€¦ good or bad is assessed from the perspective of achieving the goal.

.

@manch is suggesting men to be rapists  In SF, police would turn their heads away. Is a reason for low number of crimesā€¦ not reportedā€¦ not consider as crimesā€¦ :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

The issue discussed is the baby bust. Traditional marriage is dying. Women donā€™t want traditional roles. And men donā€™t want to grow up.
San Francisco is known as Peter Pan town. 85% singles.
Looks like itā€™s happening everywhere. One way to solve the population bomb prediction in the 70s.
I donā€™t blame young people. 50% of marriages end in divorce. That means most kids today hav experienced it and it has shaped their lives. Maybe someday it will be like Brave New World where children are raised by the nanny state. In someways they already are
As far as college, unless you are studying STEM itā€™s just a propaganda machine for leftist woke politics.

.

The implied goal is survival of the human species on Earth. Agree?

The reason men donā€™t want to get married. Whatā€™s in it for men?
They are confused about their roles. In the good days they worked hard and came home to relax. Now they come home to conflict and confusion. No wonder they rebel and reject their fate. College may become obsolete. Already in elementary and high school kids are learning at home. Will happen at college levels also.
I have a neighbor kid working part time on my farm. Smart, nerdy and a little weird, no sense of humor. Some would call him border line autistic. I think he has the potential to be an engineer. But there is no family motivation to push college. Probably will end up in the military and then get a blue collar job. I think there are lot of kids with no parental role models pushing for college. To the unwashed masses colleges are seen as propaganda machines of urban progressive elitists.

Weā€™re going in the opposite direction where there are so many humans on earth it is stressing the earthā€™s ecosystem. We need fewer people to be sustainable not more. Maybe if we get back down to 3-4B people we can worry about having more kids. The human population is still growing.

Well you keep bringing up logical thinking. Letā€™s nerd out on logic here.

The quoted line is your answer to the ā€œroot causeā€ of out-of-wedlock births. So you are claiming ā€œrising financial independence of womenā€ is the root cause of it, right? And in turn this rising female independence is due to ā€œfeminismā€.

So you have any data to support this claim? I would think most mothers would want the childrenā€™s dads to be around, to you know, help raise the kids. Instead of looking for reasons on the motherā€™s side, Iā€™d suggest looking at the men for reasons. How come these men became deadbeats and leave the mothers and the kids to fend for themselves?

I am wary of big words like ā€œfeminismā€. I donā€™t understand what it means. Itā€™s usually used as an attack term to describe anything someone may not like, sort of like ā€œliberalsā€ and ā€œwokeā€. What is your definition of the term ā€œfeminismā€ and how does it cause rising female independence? I would have thought the causal relationship is the other way around. But what do I know? I am not a feminist.

Notice the age group differences. Itā€™s probably good that births are declining for the 2 youngest groups.

Low income women having kids our of wedlock is so prevalent that people research it:

This data is a bit old, but you can see the more educated a woman is the less likely she is to have a child out of wedlock regardless of race.

I have no idea why anyone would think feminism is leading to educated women having children out of wedlock.

Yup. Thatā€™s what I thought. Increasing female independence likely decreases out of wedlock births.

Also look at the rapid fall of teenage mothers. Our high schools are doing something right.

SMH.
Keep up with progressā€¦ donā€™t always live in the past, cough, coughā€¦
You like to claim people said something, without waiting for that person to clarifyā€¦ you bash based on your assumptionā€¦ whoever agree with you is just asā€¦ :stuck_out_tongue: Learn to be patient and wait for clarification before adding more BS commentsā€¦ you make yourself being unreasonable  Hmmā€¦ sound like those Congressmen bashing the TikTok CEO!!! refusing to let him clarify.

Refer to the conversations below. I was addressing the ā€œdeclining birth ratesā€. Not interested in the second half of the sentenceā€¦ that is another issueā€¦ just look back all my previous postsā€¦ have always been about ā€œworldwide baby bustā€ aka declining births.

Aug 2018ā€¦

2h agoā€¦

Ok, good that you have changed your mindā€¦ and no longer living the past, hopefullyā€¦

Ok. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

So you are saying feminism leads to lower birth rate?

Singapore has a birth rate of 8.7 per 1000 population according to this site. Japan 8. South Korea 8.3.

In contrast USā€™ birth rate is 12.4. UK 12. France 12.1.

Are you saying Singapore/Japanese/Korean women are more feminist than women in Europe and America?

Worldwide Baby Bust.

Figuring out the possible reasons for why birth rates are declining (on a population basis).

Not doing comparisons (amongst samples).

The why is easy. People are getting richer. Richer equals more materialistic and less family oriented.
The African continent will be the last to see this trend. Population starts to decline globally starting before 2050. Societies will collapse as our debt based system is predicated on population growth. By 2100 Chat GPT will be chatting with itself.

Another easy reason is increasingly advanced medical and health technology. No need to have so many children since they donā€™t die easily and live a long life.

Another easy reason is increasingly high cost of taking care of children.

For China, the easy reason is the one child policy.

IMHO, those are enhancement reasons i.e. not the main driving (fundamental and dominant) reason.

You need to prove this premise first  If not, might as well directly say richer people prefers less/no children to take care of.

Special feature in this weekā€™s Economist:

Japan has completely lost its drive to innovate as its population ages. Same thing is starting to happen in China. Young people in China just want to play it safe and seek government jobs.

Most of the worldā€™s population will be Africans next century?

US will still be the sole unrivaled superpower for the next 100 years. China will just melt away. So much for the delusional ā€œAmerica is decliningā€ cult.

Our issue is the least educated and lowest income people are having the most babies.

Whoā€™s going to financially support all of these families?

Kids born to poor families donā€™t necessarily stay poor when they grow into adults. America is one of the best, if not the best, economies in upward mobility. We should do more to help poor kids get up the ladder.

Looks like I was wrong. We are only #27 in social mobility. Definitely need to do more.
