Looks typical to me. All these assholes on rent control boards should be forced to clean empty apartments. Then they might understand what’s really going on.
1000 beer cans and leftover rotting food is no big deal. Just hire someone to clean it up and dump which shouldn’t take long. Flooring needs to be replaced but it’s expected if tenant has been staying there for a good number of years. In the eyes of a low-income-area landlord these are non-issues. This tenant is definitely not typical, but he ain’t that bad either. What’s really costly is when the tenant purposefully wants to hurt the landlord by deliberately causing damage to the property including windows and kitchen cabinets and plumbing and electricals as they are most expensive to repair. Those tenants are the worst. This guy in the article is just a bum, nowhere near the worst.
