How much does it cost to buy worker’s comp? Hopefully he does not need to buy medical insurance for employees.

When one worker is hurt without worker’s comp, the boss may go to jail or go bankrupt

Workmans comp is maybe 30%. Can hire an electrician at $30/h figure the cost is $60 including ss, workmans comp and office overhead and truck, bill out at $120

Here is another question I think about.

The secular trend is that capital has more earning power than labor, and increasingly so. Say the price of sending your kid to private schools is 1M, in 2018 dollars.

Which would be better for your kid? You spend that 1M on private schools, or you save that 1M and invest. Of course your kid would still go to schools, but just ordinary public schools.

For argument’s sake let’s say after 18 years you have, in 2018 dollars, 3M. You give that 3M to your kid as her 18 year old birthday present.

Which is better for your kid? From your kid’s perspective not parent’s. Would you rather enhance your kid’s capital, or her chance of getting a better job? That’s assuming private schools actually enhance her job prospect and earning potential.

If the current trend continues, labor income will continue to lose out to capital income. Having a boatload of capital would be more lucrative than being a better laborer.

You are correct. I say now “if my mom had just given me the $$ that it cost me to go to college, I’d have a house by now.” or two or three.

But she valued education more. It was her money, so be it.

This is totally unrelated, but I think i like how jewish raise their kid. Knowledge is sweet - a friend of mine mentioned this as a ceremony once for their school-aged kid.

Knowledge is important. It’s somewhat stupid to have US education cost this high, though. I would probably send them to europe (ETH maybe) if somehow i cannot manage the costs/financial aid etc.
