Got 80 roblox
Cathie got 519K Roblox shares today
God damn it! Cathie is onto every hot young thang!
Wow. I ended up getting a fill at 64.60 for 500 shares and I was hoping to put in another 1000 if it drifted lower. Argg, it may not go down significantly any time soon then…
Yet another Stanford grad.
Roblox CEO Baszucki is worth over $4 billion, and his college bud’s VC firm just made a windfall
How aggressive with Cathie be?
yup all my mom friends complaining about their kids playing this game
i use it as behavior incentive. Do extra math for 10 min, get 20 extra min of Roblox. they literally jump to do their math.
Mine are still elementary age, so still listen to their Asian tiger mom.
Kids these days even “go” to concert together on Roblox. Old folks like myself just couldn’t wrap our heads around it. It has become a social network for young people, not just games. Maybe we should value Roblox along the likes of Facebook, not the gaming studios of the old days like EA.
How much revenue can games generate when kids are playing though? Parents would have to foot the bill. That or they’d need ad revenue and ads targeting kids are terrifying, and they’d still need parents to make the actual purchases of products advertised.
My handyman said that in 2020, he spent more money on “digital” products for his kids than physical ones. I am starting to see the same.
Frankly as a parent I am okay with it. Less clutter.
Haha. I think it’s been great for kids (6yr and 3 yr) for learning new stuff but I’m always weary of too much “digital” stuff. But to be honest, my 6 year old especially learned a lot via just ipad (piano, ukulele, reading/math at 3rd grade level, foreign language, etc). I think we must have about dozen subscription of apps for different learning apps. The cost is still less than going to some physical person to person lessons and kids are learning much faster with the app).
Careful what they learn. Dealing with people can’t be learned online.
@pastora I signed my 6 yo for Curiosity Stream. Dedicated channel for just documentaries, and he doesn’t have to go on YouTube. $20/year, and amazing documentaries. He is now deep into WW1 and why the Ottoman empire fell. his contact spewing of historical facts is a bit annoying but he is learning so much on his own (I don’t ask him to watch it, it is considered a reward for him to incentivize other behavior)
Great! Will check it out! My kid has been on Disney+ documentaries but he’s finished most of them.
Did you buy CURI?
