Robinhood didn’t do that well on its IPO day. A Menlo Park company.

Robinhood falls in its public market debut, closes more than 8% lower at $34.82 per share

Robinhood is run by people of not so good character. Worst customer service. The kind of service that is acceptable for booking a hotel room, but not for a company that is supposed to be custodian for your money.

Yet minted a lot of 8 figure millionaires in Bay Area - even with this price, couple of friends, Sr SWE level, got 10M - 20M and they joined HOOD 3-4 yrs ago only. More buyers are coming to Peninsula (Mountain View to San Mateo). They don’t have locked up, they can sell 15% of total (vest and unvested) today.

According to Jim Crammer, the IPO benefited only the underwriters and the promoters. Very little left for retail investors to benefit from. And this company has no moat around it.
