AAPL and Apple

Apple is scaling back production of its new budget iPhone SE due to weaker-than-expected demand, Nikkei Asia reported Monday.

You can read similar reports from past year. The real reason we don’t know. Is a common practice that Apple orders more than expected to secure the components and then adjust appropriately when more data is available.

Consecutively 10 days of closing high!

Less than $5 from ATH $182.71 :+1: :green_apple: about 2% from ATH.

Dom is angry that he missed the rally.

Always buy AAPL upon rumor of production cuts. Verify past rumors.

Apple Working to Bring More Financial Services In-House

A multiyear plan would bring a wide range of financial tasks in-house, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the plans aren’t public. That includes payment processing, risk assessment for lending, fraud analysis, credit checks and additional customer-service functions such as the handling of disputes.

Not good for my SQ and UPST holdings. Wondering whether I should liquidate them? Sell?

Tailwinds for AAPL:
Apple headsets
Apple glasses
Apple AV
Hardware as a service
Full financial services

P/E expansion  since services have higher margin than hardware.

How low would AAPL retrace to? Expect at least $172, 23.6%.

AAPL is not a best in breed of any product category
Did he miss the 25 years run?

I’m deciding between the new M1 iPad Air 256 gb or the 12.9 iPad Pro 128 gb.

How’re you finding the iPad Pro? Specifically in terms of portability? The 12.9 pro is @50% or 0.5 pounds heavier. I would like the larger screen of the Pro but not at the cost of portability. My use case is I’m going to use it at a desk on a stand or on the couch in hand.

I think it’s very portable. It seems more portable than a laptop. I’m not sure the air would seem more portable.

AAPL IPO on Dec 12, 1980. Regrettably, for buy n hold, you are better off buying BRK  then. Though is still better than S&P 7-11%, at CAGR 18.5% :+1: over 41.3 years.

However, have you bought AAPL on Sep 16, 1997, the day late SJ is iCEO.

For buy n hold, TIMING is also critical  CAGR 32.5% :money_mouth_face: over 24.5 years.

$62k for an entry retail position in NYC, fair?

Apple recruits people that can fit into Apple’s corporate culture. Ditto for acquiring companies. Easier to integrate small companies into the Apple’s corporate culture. NFLX is too large and its corporate culture too different.

Have no idea what he claimed is true or not.

What I know is every TSLA investors want TSLA to overtake AAPL as the highest market cap stock.

I also know TSLA is a post-GFC stock. Stock market is in a raging bull since GFC.
