Amazing Amazon

I have not shopped amazon for a while.
Ebay works well for used goods.
Producers company websites are also good.

Looks like Airline model will possibly be replicated in retail. Airlines will sell their ticket directly and also through aggregators like expedia. But, southwest will not sell anywhere other than its own website.

Amazon is in trouble

“I think the next decade is tough for Amazon…

…old school retailers are reinventing themselves — finally — to not only compete against Amazon, but be the first choice for consumers.

e.g. Target and Walmart. Check their share price

…old school retailers aren’t the only ones driving major change. Lululemon’s business is on fire amid a growing network of small stores that double as workout studios.

Check LULU

Do 2020 rhymes with 2019?

Also, the purchase protection plans like those offered by Paypal have reduced the risk in purchases form online marketplaces by pooling the risk. So, a big name like that of Amazon may not be required to guarantee a purchase. Amazon is still a source of information for product features and user review. It is kind of a role reversal. People touched and felt a merchandise at brick and mortar store and purchased at Amazon. Now people go to Amazon to understand a product and read customers review and then they purchase locally or with another online retailer. I have done it several times.

25 min Later: During previous election cycle, Amazon courted controversy by deleting reviews, mostly negative, on the book “Settle for More” by Megyn Kelly, the former Fox news anchor. Also, Amazon is accused to be benefiting from postal subsidy that were put in place when there was no e-commerce worth the name.

AMZN is probably still trading sideways from a multi-month perspective. There are so many hot winners like TSLA, BYND and SHOP, why invest in AMZN?

LOL

Concept of investing is buy at low price and enjoy the benefits for long (appreciation and dividend).

Out of the companies you listed, which one is cheaper to buy now, rank them and buy the ones you find cheaper cost !

TSLA, BYND and AMZN are at bargain price today! Bought 1000 shares each :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: Rubies in a sea of Imperial Jades.

“The dynamism, the energy … the growth. This country has something special,” Bezos, who wore a blue-colored traditional Indian jacket, said to the audience which responded with cheers.

Not good enough. Alphabet/ Google CEO is an Indian. In fact many Google SVPs are Indians. So for a start, appointing an Indian as SVP.

12 months later :scream:

Ain’t AMZN and FB are rocket stars? According to a fish in 7x7!

Back to trillion dollar club (after hours)

Need some $ for fund management? Your stocks are mooning!

Ebay had a lackluster earning. Does it mean anything for Amazon?

Amazon now has a marketing team focused on getting former employees to return to the company. That is mind blowing. They send out a post employment survey, and at the end they ask if recruiting can contact you about returning to the company. That’s just the start. They’re going to create a whole marketing campaign.

I wonder if they are actually going to purge out the toxic managers.

This is an interesting development. But, I cannot tell how it will end up. Can the magic be created even if the former employees return?

What is the purpose? Newbies can’t deal with job? Can’t get enough people?
