Amazing Elon

EM wants to turn TWTR into WeChat for the world

.

EM played well. He didn’t want to buy twitter because he would be overpaid a lot. He wants to con Biden Admin to cancel the twitter while he pretends to want to go through the deal. If he really want to buy, the deal would have closed long ago. EM is a master in playing governments for his benefits.

Elon messed up his financials (using/selling his options to take twitter private at heavy price) at its inopportune time. He is eligible to sell his shares tomorrow onwards.

He is doing every thing like his marriage-divorce-marriage formula !

Chief Twit

Twitter employees,

Elon is coming.
Look busy.

Elon Musk has started cleaning house at Twitter with the firings of at least four top executives on Thursday, said two people with knowledge of the situation, as the billionaire closes his $44 billion takeover of the social media company.

The Twitter executives who were fired include Parag Agrawal, Twitter’s chief executive, Ned Segal, the chief financial officer, Vijaya Gadde, the top legal and policy executive, and Sean Edgett, the general counsel, said the people, who declined to be identified because they were not authorized to speak publicly.

At least one of the executives who was fired was escorted out of Twitter’s office, they said.

Really sad for twitter folks. Twitter does have good ML talent that other employers would love to have.
Musk’s bluff has been called - don’t know what he was thinking making an offer. 44B for this company is too much in the current environment.

Very speedy action. Great news for Twitter. Now it’s on the right path to ultimately challenge Google and Facebook’s web dominance.

It is his mistake signing the contract first with 44B. He fires everyone to reduce the cost.

Yes, Musk will make it big by privatization. At some point of time, he will bring new IPO…etc

Elon may be good for Twitter, but I think Twitter will be very bad for Elon. Lots of geopolitical risks and very tiny potential benefits.

There are reports of Chinese meddling in US elections through social media. What will Twitter do? Seems to me no matter what it does either the US or China won’t be happy. And Elon has large financial stakes in both countries.

Difficult to serve two masters at the same time. Owning Twitter makes it darn right impossible.

These challenges very common for social media and he has to manage to make it work for him.

Like they did to Trump, all social media can block - in split second - which will affect him harsher than any government. He can manage governments, but not the companies like Google or Facebook or twitter (if he does not own).

Now, he is becoming big in the world, starlink (today amazon started competing to it), space X, under ground train…many initiatives. He needs to directly reach the people through mass media.

He can use his twitter to reach billions of people his own advertisements.

Whatever Elon did - so far - about take over twitter is right (with all government challenges) except he paid very high money.

The good part is he is taking it private and he can dictate without pressures from SEC/investor world.

Had he simply waited, he would got twitter at through away price today. This is the only mistake he did !

Company always overpays in an acquisition. It’s hard to get a deal. But assuming he got a deal and was able to acquire Twitter for half the price. $20B is pocket change to him in the long run. He’s not paying 100% of it anyway as there are other investors. What if he turned Twitter into a $100B company. I’m sure he made these calculations and found it worthwhile to proceed.

Also, he’s used to takeovers. Tesla wasn’t his company to begin with. He went in there and took over. He’s doing the same with Twitter except at a larger scale.

Finally Elan Musk fired Vijaya Gadde. She did more damage to Twitter than everyone else combined. Good riddance, Hope she rots unemployed for the rest of her life.

This is right if that goes to that level. It is long way to go.

In finance side, big takeovers always problems. one big mistake will be disaster.

Remember how he was about to file bankruptcy and begging investor for $420. It would have decimated his life !

He is lucky to escape from it.

That was actually more theater than truth. He had plenty of backing by then already. But that’s not to say he isn’t an extreme risk-taker. Earlier in his life, he poured every last penny into X.com from his Zip2 fortune (I think it was about $30M). Few people would risk their life-saving of $30M to save a struggling startup. He was much younger back then so maybe he was counting on his youth. But then he did the same again in 2008 with Tesla/SpaceX, except with much bigger amount to save these companies.

Boy, you really hate her

Don’t think Gadde needs to work anytime soon.

In total, Gadde is set to walk away from Twitter with the biggest haul: Nearly $74 million. Agrawal and Segal aren’t far behind her, though, at roughly $65 million and $66 million, respectively.

She should use all of that money to buy TSLA. Take a lesson from Leo KoGuan!

Someone needs to sue her till she is bankrupt. She literally was the main force behind destroying Twitter. Taking Trump out, the biggest draw for the platform, is alone worth suing her. I hope Elan comes up with a scheme to avoid paying a dime to her.
