Americans purchased a record-breaking number of firearms throughout the month of March, according to the latest figures, as gun shops in many states across the country were declared essential businesses amid the global coronavirus pandemic.
Nearly two million guns were purchased throughout the month, the New York Times reported, making March the second-busiest month for gun sales in American history.
The FBI’s background check system meanwhile conducted a record 3.7 million firearm background checks in March, a figure that skyrocketed from 850,000 in February.
NY looks set to surpass Italy all by itself. When all is said and done US will have the most cases worldwide.

Today did some grocery shopping. TJ/Safeway/millbrae chinese market, while standing in line, we did see now up to 80-90% of the people wearing masks/cover up the face. kudos to bay area people.

Crowded? I went to HMART to buy veggies and meat. Hardly anybody, could be due to senior hrs. The only things I can’t get are:
Beef tongue
for hotpot
Lotus root for soup
Not really crowded but very very slow. Allow only like 10-20 ppl inside. And ppl don’t want to come out so the line doesn’t move . Waited 2 hour at trade joes
I do safeway runs right when they open at 6 am. Gives the virus time to die off overnight and very few people in the store. Last week one of the other 6am guys was wearing a full on gas mask.
