Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 Covid-19

Cases in Williamson county doubles every 20 days. It seems to be accelerating to the wrong side.

:scream:

Peak is May 5, since then decelerating :grinning:. The bulk of the cases is in Round Rock, I suspect is east rr.

I am staying in the NW :grinning: and most of the tech job centers are located in the west :joy:

My strategy is to travel within Cedar Park.

As much a Reuters tries to make this political you just can’t compare high density population centers with international travel to rural areas. It makes no sense to apply the same approach everywhere.

One source I just checked claimed 14 deaths in Williamson county out of a population of 600,000. At that rate the deaths would have to double nearly 9 times for 1% of the people to die.
I’d hang out anywhere.

Don’t worry. Corona is just a blue state problem.

A Wall Street Journal analysis of data compiled by Johns Hopkins University shows in the two-week period between April 20 and May 4, newly confirmed Covid-19 cases in nonmetropolitan areas outpaced those in metro areas by 30%.

In many of those areas a doubling might mean 2 or 3 new cases.

This is obvious but here it is anyhow.

Asked about images being broadcast from some areas of the country showing people gathering near bars and congregating close together, Azar said that was the cost of freedom.

Again, everyone is looking at the situation through a soda straw.
The only reason you spread out the deaths in time is to avoid overwhelming the health care system. If that doesn’t happen the decision was the correct one.

“Two months later, it has not been the worst-case scenario that many envisioned. COVID-19 deaths have disproportionately hit the elderly and those in nursing homes, as is the case in most countries, but hospitals have not been overwhelmed. As with the rest of the world, it will be months, or even years, before the full picture of mortality emerges.”

So the predictions of doom were wrong. Shocking… it’ll be interesting to see total deaths, since they should hit herd immunity much faster than everyone else.

At the risk of being a broken record we are 20 years away from knowing “total deaths” because the ongoing consequences of the economic damage done by the lockdowns kills people as surely as the virus does. We already have that UN piece in this thread.

For all you communists that love SIP here is Stalins final speech. BTW it is in Georgian. Stalin hated Russians and had no problem killing 30 million Russians and Ukrainians.
It is has English subtitles

This is officially all stupid. No one has said if having coronavirus makes you immune from getting it again. No one knows if you can get it multiple times. Yet, everyone is celebrating the Moderna vaccine. Read what they are celebrating.

“At day 43, about 2 weeks after the second dose was given to participants, levels of antibodies were at levels generally seen in blood samples from people who recovered from the disease.”

We don’t even know if that’ll be effective or make people immune. Two doses = more money though. People should research who’s invested money in Moderna.

Yep. I wish I bought Moderna and Zoom. Altough zoom seems totally Mickey Mouse.

Dude doesn’t know he’s Iron Man.
