Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 Covid-19

Lol. Wow. That’s some sensational journalism. They may have done something, but we don’t know if they did and can’t prove it. People drove their cars and some crossed state lines. Wow.

1 in 1200 chance of dying from Covid19 for most people. What about car wrecks?. The world will never be risk adverse. But we already know the affects of 20% unemployment. The Great Depression and WW2.
I talked to one of my tenants. They won’t go back to work until their unemployment benefits run out. Of course by then who will be hiring after all the small businesses disappear?

My dentist is reopening on Jun 1. Got an email from her the other day:

The health and safety of our patients and staff is our top priority. Every decision in reopening was made very thoughtfully to ensure an office environment that is safe for everyone. Rest assured, we have always gone above and beyond for infection control. Per guidance from ADA/CDA/CDC/OSHA, we will be including these updates:

*PATIENTS MUST HAVE A MASK TO ENTER THE OFFICE!
*Daily health screening and temperature checks for staff and patients
*Pre-screening communication leading up to the day of appointments
*Ultra-HEPA air filters in clinical areas (100xs as powerful as HEPA)
*Enhanced PPE by clinical staff
*Aerosol reduction equipment in each dental operatory
*Spacing of waiting room furniture to allow for social distancing
*Sneeze guards at the reception areas
*Limiting the waiting room to patients only
*Removal of magazines and toys in the waiting room (difficult to disinfect)
*Contactless credit card payments
*Virtual waiting room

Wow. Great safety measures. Software vendors making virtual waiting rooms will make even more money.

I was at a dentist’s yesterday. No waiting room (chairs removed, you have to wait in the parking lot, just as at the vet’s). Doctor did not wear a full body suit, just the regular (gloves and a quality mask). Patients have to remove their mask, as expected.

It did not seem particularly dangerous.

My dentist stayed open the whole time. He has a lot of kids to send to college. Still half the price of BA dentists

…vaccinated people would still spread the virus, but be less likely to die from it.

Vaccines that contain weakened strains of virus can be dangerous for older people, but might be given to younger people with more robust immune systems to reduce the spread of infection.

:-1: older people are the vulnerable ones.

Haven’t follow Covid stats for awhile. Noted that the number of deaths in USA is almost 100,000. @Elt1 any comments?

Traffic getting on Bay Bridge and 880.

SIP was great for Bay Area traffic.

I’m sure it’s because we don’t give the CDC enough money.
