Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 Covid-19

Above broad studies (talking about forest) have nothing to do air-con rooms and staying outside (talking about tree).

Which is less than 0.1% of the population. 1% of women used to die during child birth. People still had multiple kids. It’s good they weren’t as scared of everything as we are today or humans wouldn’t exist.

5000 ppl died in 911. How much did US spend in response and how many non US people were killed in Afghanistan and Iraq and how many US personnel died in response?

It’s easy for people who can work remotely without contact with others to say that let others die.

I’m saying there is no evidence yet that higher temperatures prevent it.

Indoors vs Outdoors adds another variable to the equation. No doubt Indoor increases the risk. There is no evidence yet on high vs low temperature indoors .

The studies talk about climate and weather. During Summer, the temp outside the house can be 100 deg F but one can stay inside the house setting air-con to 68-72 deg F. So climate and weather are irrelevant. I can stay in 68-72 deg air-con house, go to the car setting air-con to 68-72 deg F and then go through air-con underground car park to air-con stores - that is how Singaporeans live - All air-cons, is why even though temp is high, still get coronavirus once introduced through air-con planes and airport.

I thought below is what you said.

It’s more than just death rates. Obviously that’s the most devastating outcome. But more and more research are now showing there are long term health effects even after a patient so-called recovers. Lung capacity is vastly reduced and many show severe brain damage. It’s barely been a few months so no doubt more and more will be known about the long term health effect of Covid. So far it looks pretty grim.

Exactly, I talk about tree not climate and weather. That statement is said in the context of people (tree) jogging. Said one of them is infected, he breaths out virus airborne, but virus died without reaching me.

Seriously, I’m not getting it that’s why I am pursuing it further.

So, are you saying jogging is ok?

In Austin  where current temp is @manch hell-like high, night can still be over 90 deg F.

Anyhoo, I have talked about temp very early in this thread.

what is this tree?

Btw, temp has no impact on Covid.

Climate and weather don’t have direct effect. Those studies are what @erth refer to as crap. Too broad and didn’t account for living conditions, lifestyle and employment of technologies.

Btw, humans have negated the effect of weather through the invention of HVAC

Just for info, I set temp at 82 deg F i.e. air-con would kick in under 82 deg F.

This article said is 86 deg F. IIRC is 78 degF - may be another article. Ofc, if you stay in an air-con room, the study means nothing.

The experts says a vaccine won’t be highly effective. He also says it’s too contagious to just go away on its own. That means it’s permanently here like the flu. So we either wear masks and distance for the rest of human existence, or we move on with life.

not with but from

Anyways, we will find out in 9 months if there is an effective vaccine.

Moving on with life means suppressing Covid like Europe and Asia. Canada also got their act together. There can’t be normal life in a raging pandemic.

I don’t get why America is so exceptional that it has to be the odd man out of all advanced countries.

It isn’t. We’ve done better than a number of developed countries including England. Those parts of the country that peaked late are now on a downswing. The experience of California shows that draconian measures have no significant long term impact. The shape of the curve may change some temporarily but the final outcome re: deaths per capita remains roughly the same no matter what you do or don’t do. Even Holland and Sweden, which both took minimal measures (Holland still questions the science behind mask wearing) are headed lower.

Americans are exceptionally overweight. … hence more vulnerable than any other country. The root cause of the death rate. Plus Americans don’t follow rules. Ever driven in Germany? I even got yelled at for jaywalking there. There is a high price to pay for eating whatever you want and not following rules. Seems like Americans are willing to pay it.

An effective vaccine is doubtful. Loose weight and you will be less vulnerable. If Trump gets covid19, Even his followers might go on a diet.

Being obese means more likely to die from Covid. Unless I am mistaken, I’ve never heard people claiming that obese people are more likely to catch Covid in the first place.

We are in the top 10 in Covid cases per capita. The worst among advanced economies.

You can turn the obesity argument upside down. We know we are fat and unhealthy, therefore we should have been more careful and more forceful with our approach towards Covid. We have been behaving like we are some invincible teenagers.
