Dow Down 666 Points

I think I’m at about the same level… +/- some chump change… I don’t remember exactly…

Didn’t sell any during the drop. Bought along the way instead. I am slightly above the level prior to the crash(but I don’t really keep track of exactly how much money I had, so could be wrong).

Anything active you are doing to get prepared or just set cash aside? If that day indeed comes, it would be bad for the market.

Really… so you don’t keep track of your assets meticulously with a spreadsheet like I do?

Are we talking about the same thing?
I’m past the level just before the crash but is below the ATH achieved before the crash.
The main reason is because UBNT and IRBT (sold 50%, got hit with the other 50%) crashed very badly after the earnings. 25-40% crash. Now is about 2% below ATH. 5.3% YTD.

I only remember my ATH which was reached before the 666 points slide. Don’t remember whether it’s exactly one day prior.

Anyway it doesn’t really matter. I am up for now for the year, just not as much as it used to be.

Stocks, I am up 1.02% from the crash repurchase, but over all 5.93% YTD.

Stock investing is a long running course. Even years of gain can mean nothing. Just a few weeks? Not even worth discussing…

I do it meticulously on the back of an envelope, once a year.

So sloppy…

5.3% YTD despite both UBNT and IRBT still very much underwater :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Added some when it tumbled, but the decline is really BIG.

For me, Warren Buffet TEVA pulled me down heavily 5% down. Freeing up some profitable cash (from ANET) to buy TEVA if it goes down 10%. Planning to buy when it reaches around $19 ( if it reaches)

My confidence in Buffet is still there, holding strongly. Other than TEVA, rest are positive.

I had seen SYF, when buffet bought, it was staying at the same or down even for a month, but later it went up and up. I bought at $33 SYF, it went down to $28.5, I bought again (believed in buffet), it came to current level.

Looks to me when buffet info (13F filing) released, stock is selling high as everyone is buying and then getting stabilized later.

Still holding TEVA at 25$. In the red. It should bounce back by end of the year. Sold MO in this crash. Nothing else. Deployed 1/4th of dry powder to buy REITs. Waiting on remaining 3/4th for the Fed march meeting result.

Why did you sell?

I bought MO as it has good PM (50+%) and dividend 4%. Every time, government applies tax on MO & Phillip Morris products, still they make good profit. The max lowest point I see is $60 (Last two years time frame)

I wanted to free up more cash for a bigger Dow drop.

PANW, I will watch.

More than IRBT, I guess UBNT will recover fast. IRBT gets into too many competitors. Simiarly, NTRI is beaten down today.

What do you guys think of HD stock?

You don’t need that. You need moonshot stocks like TSLA.

I made a moonshot with my apartment building in Tahoe.
Similar to the one in Sacramento 20 years ago.
Tesla will crash to earth just like most of Muskys rockets
Experts forecast almost 20% gain on HD this year.

I bought HD at 142. Holding strong. SA says 28% growth for this year.
