I agree it is crazy every hour, pre-market. If it goes like this way, we may even see 2000 points tomorrow. the current trend means no buyer, but all sellers…

The most scary sellers are margin calls! We can have a 3000 point drop if margin use is excessive
Maybe mortgage rate will tank due to stock crash. Could be a great opportunity to catch the low rate for the last time!

Is the financial market over-invested in stocks? More money could move to RE or other asset class.
I think it’s going to be a replay of 1987. Stock crashes on pure technical overbought, not fundamental economic changes.
What does the research say about 1987 crash? We have so many smart scholars, what did they find in their 30 year research? I will lose confidence on academic community if they still don’t understand 1987 crash

No way… Mortgage rate follows bond market, mainly 10/20/30 year bonds. When stock falls, bonds gains. Mortgage rate will increase when stock crashes.
When stock falls, bonds gains, bond interest rate falls, therefore mortgage rate falls

BTW that’s why people should NOT wait for a crash to buy real estate, or stocks for that matter. Because when the crash finally comes, you will be hiding under the table just like everyone else.

As I think more, it makes more sense that stock is falling as a knife now. Market has been really complacent about the low rate. If interest rate starts a long term rise, stock market could drop 40%

Interest rate trend change can be a a fatal blow to stocks even if economy does well.
We may have a great economy and a falling stock market at the same time. Did this ever happen before?
If this happens, stock investors will become the most fierce anti-Trump forces, and RE investors will vote for Trump
