Elon Musk in trouble

 focus on…

The different speeds at which states are reopening their economies amid the coronavirus pandemic are becoming a factor as company executives consider where to locate operations, site selection and state economic development officials said.

Btw, in 12-18 months, Fremont would lose 10,000 tax payers and home owners/ renters.

The Fremont factory employs more than 10,000 people, according to the automaker.

Sell you rental in Fremont ASAP.

Not sure if most of those 10k people live in Fremont. My guess is most of them come in from other far off locations. The production workers who should be a majority of the workers, have an average pay of Average salary is $18.44 per hour according to indeed.com.

My view is Elon anyways wanted to move even before the pandemic. He taking this opportunity as an excuse, however I’m not sure how it helps him by pissing off CA govt.

Elon played hardball and won. Businesses are opening up everywhere. There is little Gavin can do. He isn’t willing to use marshal law. So if the virus peaks again he can say I told you so.

I see most people wearing masks and keeping the 6’ rule. As long as people are still doing that, the rate will be lower.

California has no balls. At least they understand the consequences better than @manch :grinning: 10000 jobs !!!

I like to root my thinking in the concrete instead of hand waving about trends. :innocent:

Austin can always pay Elon billions of dollars to get those jobs. By the way there is no state income tax in Texas so it’s up to property owners like you to pay for the government services they use.

Elon is a jerk. But California could be more friendly to businesses. It’s better to have businesses coming than leaving.

If the production line is already keeping to social distancing norms, CA may not have much to stand on.

I still think he might move. He is selling all his California homes. Tax is a big concern. Plus the general hate towards businesses and wealth in California

BTW: Reading the article, Elon Musk did not win. It reads to me like they let him open with the caveat that h put in protection for workers that they already had been asking for (presumably before CV19). I’m seeing this as a chess match, and they simply made the next move.

He is a symbol of defiance. My friend Evan is opening his restaurant on Friday. Whether Gavin permits it or not. Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled against SIP. People have had it with socialist dictatorship. A Republican just won in district 25. The reopening has become a reawakening. My conservative friends want Fauci arrested. People have had it with the Nanny State. The beaches in SoCal are open again.
We only have to fear fear itself.

The problem with the Nanny State is the experts are clueless. Fauci does know which model will predict the virus outcome. No treatment no vaccine no clue when one will be effective.

Mask or no mask. Open Walmart but not hiking trails?
Launch ramps still closed. What better social distancing than boats?. And they are being sold in record numbers.

Congrats @hanera. Austin is the next Reno.

Wish Tesla can convince Texans to trade in their F-150s for CyberTrucks.

Too bad right now, Tesla can’t even sell direct to consumers in Texas…

Elon should move Tesla’s HQ away, including all his engineering team. Drama queen.

Your next rental should be in Austin MSA  Businesses would continue to move out of California if Californians continue this type of anti-business anti-landlord behavior.

We are told that the decision for the site is not set in stone since Tesla was apparently given a few options in the greater Austin area, but Musk is said to want to start construction extremely soon and aims to have Model Y vehicles coming out of the plant by the end of the year.

Likely in the eastern region such as Taylor. Won’t be the same western region as Apple Campus - not zoned for factory.

How’s Reno real estate doing after the first Gigacrap opened?

Don’t have so much time to monitor everywhere. My focus is SIMPLIFY, DO as little work as possible
