Elon Musk in trouble

Any strip clubs, nudists’ beaches and excellent BBQ? Something he didn’t get to do in Cali.

Reno has all that and legal brothels right near the plant.

May be Reno women are not as sexy?

You are and will have to do a fact finding tour. :sunglasses: For educational purposes only.

Elon already bagged the Reno subsidy and Reno is not stupid enough to offer another. Thus the drive to con other desperate places like Austin.

Love it!

“Elon: you wanted to leave California, right? Austin is a mini version of California, just way hotter.”

Yeah… that’s true.

I think there’s some benefit though to Texas especially if he’s making trucks, but maybe Austin isn’t it.

All that said, if he moves all the Tesla manufacturing out of Fremont, he could move more tech development stuff in. Space X and other?

That guy is comparing city of Austin with California? Or 7x7? The terrafactory is not in the city of Austin. Is in Hutto, an exurb in Williamson county. The factory is conveniently near highway 79 and a railroad, and 30 mins (highway 79 then 130) to airport.

Real question is which place will be more supportive of his ego. Suspect Tulsa and truck lovers might actually be it.

That said–Texas is a big state. Why not find somewhere other than outside-Austin?

Availability of a pool of SWEs, semi professionals and manufacturing guys :grinning: there is also a big military research facility in Austin :grinning:

Who does not have a ego of the kind Elon Musk has? And why is it a bad thing to have some kind of ego?

The benefit coming to Austin with relocation of Tesla will be possible dent into Silicon Valleys role in development of autonomous vehicles. Truly, autonomous vehicles have been in development for last 20 years. And in the last few years, all major automakers have some operations in SV to support R&D in autonomous vehicles.

Elon Musk Is the Hero America Deserves

Ashlee Vance interviews the billionaire entrepreneur on his Twitter usage, selling off his possessions, and the historic upcoming launch.

“America is still the land of opportunity more than any other place, for sure,” Musk says, waxing patriotic. “There is definitely no other country where I could have done this - immigrant or not.” That it’s a multibillionaire, Covid-19-truthing, entrepreneurial huckster/hero delivering this message is pretty much perfect for America in 2020.

Cities Bid for Tesla Truck Plant Despite Shrinking Coffers

The urge to lure businesses with billion-dollar tax and subsidy packages remains strong.

Notably, Austin offered no perks for a new $1 billion campus Apple announced in 2018.

Jeff antics didn’t sway Austin to give him any perks. So what do Elon Musk expect?

Good, I’m so glad some cities are willing to hold the line. Stop giving out $ and incentives to lure billion corporations. Such a waste of taxpayer money.

Provide a good environment for business and citizens and companies will come.
