Basically the anti abortion Republican crowd are idiots. They want to encourage more births of more Democrats. Don’t we have too many people already? If the Christian Right wasn’t so hypocritical about concern for the unborn vs total disinterest in actual living children then they would be supporting childcare, welfare, free medical and all the other support needed for the 62 million aborted kids that nobody wanted. Plus the millions living in foster care or in homes with unfit parents.

A lot of the electorate are suffering worse losses than the average forum member here because they still hold a significant portion of their portfolio in bonds, which I doubt many of us do. Bonds are getting clobbered worse than stocks. And in areas too poor for folk to have significant net
worth in the markets those $6 loaves of thin slice bread are the real issue anyhow.
But all politics is local. Arizona is a key battleground state and Soros threw millions into the Republican primary to make sure the weakest candidates won. It worked. A guy who built a multi million dollar solar company lost; a college drop out whose claim to fame is being a shark tank entrepreneur based on an idea of making bottle openers out of cartridge casings won. I met him. Dumb as a brick. Didn’t know what “firewising” meant; had to have it explained. I don’t know which outcome will be scarier in November - winning or losing. We have the stupidest people money can buy -and it did.
