Baseline model 3 is under 40k. The Chevy discount only applies to the topline Bolt which comes out to be similar to model 3 though… 
Yes, I prefer Bolt premier only as I am driving the same, but lease is getting over by Jul 2020. They have some additional discount for existing customer. Any way, I have more time to decide, but by that time we will be deep recession.

The fact Waymo can’t scale is very telling. They hired a ton of brilliant people, funded them with billions, and still can’t scale it.

As a layperson, the whole self driving thing seems very difficult. There is not enough uniformity across different areas/cities/states. I’ve seen so many different signs and markings and poorly designed streets, sometimes all in the same city. In SF or NYC, there are bikes, people, random cones and construction everywhere. Then there are the human drivers…we suck.

We need EVs to save the world from green house gases. Wait, we don’t want anyone to mine the materials needed to make EVs, since that’s bad for the environment too. Wait, it’s ok if people mine them in other countries. Then the mining isn’t bad for the environment.
Wow, do these people realize how stupid they are? It is amusing to watch environmentalists acknowledging what some have said all along. EVs aren’t necessarily better for the environment. We’re just trading one type of damage for another. That’s not a great solution.

Wrong label. NIMBYS are not environmentalists. NIMBY people are simply property right people who want to manage what gets built in their neighborhood.
You have a narrow definition. For this case, neighborhood refers to your nation. Mining is not ok in your nation, yet ok in other nations.
May be you like object permanence, if you are a 4x2, activity permanence?
