Everything Prefab

I looked around and haven’t found much that’s more economical than site built. Maybe it’s built better, I don’t know.

Some nice ones where they only deal with devvelopments

Yeah, that is the tough part apparently still. If they can get it up to scale in both manufacturing and usage costs will come down. I really do think it will happen. It has to, I created this darn thread…

Cool! Time to include “plug and play” terminology with prefab!

You can get a much bigger dumpster for only $5k!

Inside looking out, doesn’t seem too bad…

I would rather have a nice double wide. .You know a 24x60…1440sf…New about $100k…Used in Oklahoma about $25k…with trailer park rent of about $300/m in Oklahoma, maybe $500-$1000 closer to the BA…One of my tenants just bought a used single wide in Carson… $10k, plus $300/m rent…The apartment he rented from me in South Lake Tahoe was smaller and now rents for $1150…He was paying $825…

Any trailers well built and low energy?

Doublewides can be anything you want…Of course subject to local codes…Most cities restrict them to parks…But parks are the solution to the BA housing problem. .allow higher density…The issue is land costs, not building costs. .

I ca’t recall the name, but one building on Santa Clara St, which you could see from Hwy. 280 was built that way.

The one story-ness I can see as a great advantage over the double decker prefabs…

Is this kind of like how porn played a big role in the adoption of VHS over Beta? Maybe the Brits will be the ones to make prefab the accepted norm!

Pretty nice one that is not boxy looking and yet is quite old…

Come on, who couldn’t fit one of these in their backyards?? Instant unit for many uses…
