The Top Dog hot dog is my favorite hot dog…The owner is a libertarian wing nut. I think he fired the cook because most of his customers are liberals. .When you serve the public you have to be non political…
Because Nazis were racists, but Communists never discriminated against any particular group but the rich. Most people today also hate the rich anyways.
Um… they were not specifically anti-semitic, I don’t think. If they did do that to Jews, they probably did it to all other minorities too. But I doubt that being the case.
What about black supremacists? The deputy mayor of Charlottesville is one. You don’t see anyone calling for his resignation. Of course, there’s a near media blackout on his behavior. If a white person was tweeting that about black people, it’d be HUGE news.
A Nazi terrorist killed an American on Saturday. That’s all we need to know.
What’s wrong with this “Whataboutism” is that it just deflects from the gravity of what just happened. If and when a communist terrorist killed someone we will condemn that act. But is it what happened 2 days ago?
I don’t remember people citing genocide against Africans in colonial times when they condemned ISIS terrorists. Somehow some people find condemning white supremacists difficult.
You have to take history into account. White people committed genocide to native Americans and enslaved black people. People of color never committed mass scale atrocities to white people. That’s why white supremacists face extra scrutiny today.
Wrong is wrong. If we don’t take a stand against all of it, then certain groups will get away with it. Letting some groups get away with it is eventually going to boil up and lead to more violence. You’re basically condoning black people attacking white people, because slavery was bad. It’s saying black people deserve leeway to get even. That’s only going to create more violence in the future.
If anything it’s the other way around. Compared to overwhelming press coverage on muslim terrorism, we rarely hear anything about radical white terrorism from the press. Radical white terrorism is seldom labeled as terrorism, like what happened in Virginia two days ago.
The FBI, on the other hand, has already concluded that white supremacists, including neo-Nazi supporters and members of the Ku Klux Klan, are in fact responsible for the lion’s share of violent attacks among domestic extremist groups. White supremacists “were responsible for 49 homicides in 26 attacks from 2000 to 2016 … more than any other domestic extremist movement,” reads the joint intelligence bulletin.
The report, titled “White Supremacist Extremism Poses Persistent Threat of Lethal Violence,” was prepared by the FBI and DHS.
The bulletin’s numbers appear to correspond with outside estimates. An independent database compiled by the Investigative Fund at the Nation Institute found that between 2008 and 2016, far-right plots and attacks outnumbered Islamist incidents by almost 2 to 1.
I suspect they aren’t counting all of the Muslim ones as Muslim. That’s how they report the numbers lower than they are. Plus, we’ve gotten much better at preventing them, so the number is much lower than it could be.
Does media judge all Whites by the action of white supremacists?
Muslim_terrorists are small subset of Muslims. We must not judge Muslims by the behavior of its small subset of people.
White_spremacists are small subset of Whites. We must not judge Whites by the behavior of its small subset of people.
Is your point “we must not condemn white supremacists”?
Please, make your point clear so that we don’t misunderstand you.
I think @marcus335 is not happy with the fact that people seem to be targeting white supremacists more than Muslim terrorists and black criminals. He thinks that all these groups should be equally condemned. No more no less.
