My wife is in analog chip design. She says she doesn’t have any lab testing right now, but when it is needed she will have to be in the lab.
For the rest of us (software+business) WFM is sweet.

Not if you have young kids. Wifey and I are really stressed with the whole WFH thing with 2 young kids (and sentiment seems similar to others with young kids).

6 ft distance rule essentially makes in-person meetings impossible.

I’m not sure, but you’re right. Maybe everyone dies the meeting from their desk? They are still working on the plan with no date for returning to the office.
6 ft distancing rule is arbitrary. Many countries only recommend 1 meter (3.3 feet) of distancing.
I guess requiring masks at all times would be more effective and realistic than 6 ft rule.
It would make everyone nervous to keep 6ft distance from anyone for over 8 hours non-stop.
I don’t think I can focus on my work if I have to be conscious of it all the time.
I bought UV light sanitizer to sanitize disposable mask and recycle it for a few more times.
Does anyone have suggestion on good fabric mask with the space for filter?
I heard that putting coffee filter is better than nothing.
Anyway, I am less concerned on me going back to office than my kids going back to schools.
It is nearly impossible to control children’s behavior…
