How the Coronavirus will affect Bay Area Housing Market

Stocks hammered should hopefully drive Money into RE . It’s because most people if they don’t get the price will rent the house for better times unless they are distressed and in our area very few people have weak hands . I saw that even the people who inherit have zero debt so have the ability to wait and it happened in my experience because I wanted to buy a tear down last week and the heirs just postponed the sale until corona-crisis is over .

I need to buy some toilet paper but every store is out of stock. Does Folsom Costco have enough toilet paper? I may need to drive there to buy

They didn’t have any last week. A friend just got some online. I am sure there are stores that have it.

Other than depressing rent, can’t rent out. Who want to move?

Try Asian supermarkets. Most are well stocked as Asians panicked early and have already bought tons of toilet paper.

This is what the other side of the tunnel looks like. There’s a video in the tweet so click on the link.

Men use one roll a month. Women us one roll every 6 days.

Buy vodka not toilet paper

Plenty of rice and noodles too.

Hopefully will be short term. But I’m looking at loosing 6 months rents on my properties due to restrictions on eviction until June 1 and then 3 months eviction time potential. Of course I can let my tenants stay free and hope for the best. I am at their mercy as much as the fate of the virus. Because even if they leave, who will replace them if the economy is in the toilet?

In San Jose they passed eviction moratorium
But they are saying that they will help the landlord using property taxes etc so it won’t come out of landlords pockets

We have to see how it plays

Last article I saw was they were thinking of waiving late fees only. Don’t think anything has been passed

I am about to mail in my property taxes next week. Should I wait?

I went to the local costco today. Surprisingly they have toilet paper in stock with a limit of 1. Even more surprising is that there were very few customers today and the line is short. Maybe most people are already saturated with buying groceries.

Costco stopped letting people return toilet paper:

I think they should give a 10% discount for paying early. That would encourage people to pay right now.

Many of the family rely 2 high income to pay for their million dollar home. If one or both lost income. Imagine what would happen to the market. Tech will be affected by this for sure
