While the situation is obviously fluid, the most obvious outcome is making Covid front and center of this election again. Trump has been trying hard to make the election about anything but Covid: “riot”, Biden’s health, economy, China, etc. By focusing voters‘ attention on Covid and how disastrous the WH has been handling it, I don’t think it will shine the best light on Trump.
Remember, Trump’s schtick has always been that he’s strong and he alone can fix things. Now he’s the weak one.
Not if he survives… What doesn’t kill you just makes you stronger.
That said, if he really took the cocktail of stuff he did, I’ll give him points for being willing to be part of the experimental treatments.

The in person rallies without social distancing, the maskless convention on the white house lawn, hypothesizing ‘just the flu’ will disappear by easter ‘like a miracle’…I don’t mean to be insensitive under the circumstances but frankly whether he recovers or not it makes him seem like an…
No need to dramatize.
If he has a mild case he was right. Plus the fact he is tested almost everyday and everyone around him is tested means testing has little value except for statistics.
He has said all along testing has little value. Plus 99% of us will survive it. And if an old fat bastard like him that eats McDonald’s everyday survives it then the rest of us except HONDAs can relax.
Like I have always said quarantine the vulnerable not the rest of us.

Continuation of a pattern. Trump has COVID because he’s responsible for running the nation and has been campaigning his heart out on top of that at the age of 74. Now he is participating in finding a cure for COVID. It’s easy to avoid COVID if you risk nothing and do nothing like his opponent.

You don’t get it Manch. If he survives and especially if his case is mild he is a winner. Covid19 is only an issue if you die. Otherwise it is no big deal. People I know that have had it compare it to a cold. Old people die from it just like pneumonia. That’s what killed my dad. So if Trump pulls thru quick he is a hero. If he dies he is a martyr to his peeps. Either way he can’t lose.

He’s already a hero to his base, and his base is only 40% of voters. You can’t win elections with only 40%. The biggest mistake of his campaign is that he keeps feeding red meat to his base, but in so doing turns the independents away. That’s why he’s down 8 points. His base doesn’t need any cuddling. It’s already his.
Covid cases were on a down trend the last two months and the country was in a better mood. That’s why the race tightened a little bit. Trump has been downplaying Covid all along. Now even Fox News is forced to put Covid on prime time coverage. This reminds Americans how pathetic our response has been.

Absolutely not true. The issue with Covid 19 is the cytokine cascade that is typical of the body’s immune response to the illness. We’re talking massive inflammation across multiple organ systems…the lungs, the heart, blood vessels, even your nervous system. If he survives, given his age and preexisting conditions, he will likely never be the same again. One could almost compare it to having a stroke or heart attack (where again, it’s the subsequent inflammation that gets you) except drawn out over multiple weeks rather than an acute event. You don’t ‘win’ by catching Covid…
