It’s a fact: the Bay Area rental market has softened

My wife posts on yelp …But being Russian, she only yelps to complain. .She looks at it like a consumer complaint hotline…Others are just into “sharing”…Sorry but the motivation of yelpers is highly suspect. …Who has the time to yelp about your favorites. .Personally if I like a place, I wouldn’t tell anyone…want it all to myself…

That kinda makes sense, but again we have evolved into a sharing world right? Sharing thoughts (Twitter) and interests (Facebook). Sharing households (Airbnb). Sharing rides (Uber). Share, share, share…

No, @hanera, we ain’t sharing wives…

In today’s world, you share, you’re good man, you no share, you’re evil
good landlord suppose to subsidize renter to pay low market rent
high income earners need to be tax to hell to subsidize those who earn less

So which are we. good or evil?

I don’t trust Yelp reviews at all but when I do read it I only read the negative reviews. If there are sanitary issues then no way Jose.

The negative reviews seem to get a lot more “useful” votes at least from the small number of posts I’ve read (not for FOOD). I also get a kick seeing the instantaneous reactions from the vendors to any negative comments- in one case it was "CAUTION. THIS IS A FAKE REVIEW FULL OF INNUENDO AND LIES." (post Trump election, LOL at the drama) The company has tons of business but has 20 some yelp reviews. Doesn’t help them at all.

I dont understand the serial yelp posters wanting to share everything. .Same with serial facbook posters…Must have lots of free time

Modern communications is many to many, or at least one to many. The traditional small and cozy communication is now replaced with social media. Everyone is a media producer. Everyone is a journalist, a commentator, a talk head.

Traditional media is dead. We do not need the monopolized talking mouth. Everyone’s mouth counts.
