My hypothesis is companies are slowing/freezing hiring, but they are not closing open job reqs. There aren’t really 11M open jobs anymore. The hiring numbers are going to be lower going forward. Also, people will be hesitant to leave a stable situation for an unknown one. Employee turnover will decline.

All my friends who were working in Nebraska are out. They don’t want to go back ever again even if paid $500k/ yr!
