Ok, 65-1.... Game Over Folks?

They also have more to lose.

These men are rich and famous for a reason. They are ambitious, like to take risks and are used to have their way. That’s why you see on news they get in trouble with not so attractive women. It’s not really about sex. It’s a power game.

I don’t know about that, I think it would be about the sex if you are wanting meetings with porn stars or models…

What about Arnold and the maid? There was another diplomat from France or whatnot having affairs with his maid in NYC couple years back.

Arnold was more of an opportunity to play with fire I think…I mean what kind of power play is that, your maid???

You need to ask Arnold. Bad boy!

Sex, power (influence), reputation (history), wealth

Power to influence, so you’re right about the France diplomat and Arnold.
Almost all men want power to influence.

Issue is you have now a consistent pattern of lying on the behalf of Kavanaugh:

Lie #1 and #2: I didn’t drink, but if i did (and it wasn’t much), it was legal

#1: he already walked back #1 in his Senate testimony
#2: Legal age for drinking for Maryland was 21 not 18. Why lie over something so easily disproved? Also his highschool yearbook reinforced that he lies with his claim to try for the 100 keg club

Lie #3: I never got drunk in high school or college

Already rebutted by multiple classmates from high school and college (including his roommate)

Lie #4: Treated women with respect

His high school year book puts that to rest with his statements on Devil’s triangle, his remarks on “Renate Alumnius” (basically claiming to have had sexual relations with the “easy” girl in high school)

Lies #5, $6, …: Under Oath - Manny Miranda email hacking scandal during the bush years. Under oath he claimed to have not been aware of it at that time. During the recent document evaluation for the Supreme court it showed he was well aware of the hacked emails, gave feedback on it, etc. And there are more from that time.

He has conduct that is unbecoming of a Supreme Court Judge and a completely political creature.

What is there to investigate?

  1. Ford named 3 people who were there. They all said they weren’t and have no idea what she’s talking about. There’s not a single witness that can place Kavanaugh and Ford together at any party.

  2. NYT questioned a bunch of people about the Ramirez incident. They didn’t find a single witness.

  3. The third woman didn’t even say Kavanaugh was in the room or new about the alleged incident. He was allegedly at the same party.

So why not have a proper investigation? Why can’t everybody be examined and all the evidence? What’s the rush to confirm without an investigation? McConnell was willing to keep a supreme court vacancy for 14 months under Obama and refused to confirm any circuit court judges for 2 years… so why the rush to fill now?

Everybody knows the answer to that question. Some are honest about it and some aren’t.

We can’t control what’s happening in the Senate right now. I am more interested in how the politics will play out. I don’t think having the midterms race centered on sexual assaults is a smart move for the GOP. The best option for them is to have BK withdraw nomination by himself and quickly move on to some other candidate.

That’s why I don’t understand the Republican strategy. They are more then likely to retain the Senate. So withdraw and put up a less controversial candidate. Why choose this hill to die on unless they really fear they are going to lose the Senate.

I think Trump forces them to stick with BK. We all know how rational that guy can be. He sees every slight to be about him and him only.

Even if GOP lost the Senate, it’s the White House that gets to nominate. Maybe WH can’t push thru some ideologue like BK but it’s not supposed to anyway. There are still plenty well qualified right-leaning judges to choose from.

Playing with fire so close to midterms puts the Senate in play IMO. BK is the most unpopular candidate since polling on SC candidates started. Yes, he’s that toxic.

Also Supreme Court justices can be impeached. If investigations started later on under a Democratic Congress and he’s found to have broken laws, it’s possible he get impeached. A distant possibility for sure but that puts further strain on our democracy.

Will The GOP Base Really Stay Home If Kavanaugh Isn’t Confirmed? | FiveThirtyEight

If they wanted an investigation, then Feinstein shouldn’t have sat on the letter for 6-7 weeks before revealing it. It’s her fault this came to light so last minute.

Again, what are they going to investigate? Everyone named as a potential witness has said they weren’t there. What is there to investigate? There’s no witnesses to question. Will the alleged victims even testify under oath where they can be cross examined? So far the answer is no, so how do you investigate a crime where the alleged victim won’t testify?
