In Santa Clara, there are like 40 places where you can drop off your ballot. Most of them are 24 hours drop off site. Did it today.
Comparing to dropping off the ballots, doing research on the candidates and measure costs way more time. If some people don’t even want to spend time dropping off the ballots, I am super curious what is the basis of their ballot picks.
I think we need to have people pass some tests before they can vote. Like we test people before they can drive. A basic civics test like the one for citizenship would be good. If people can’t name the three branches of federal government I don’t think we should let them vote.
Liberals will scream bloody murder if you have poll tests. They want unrestricted poll access. No id no rules just let any idiot vote. Felons, illegals, dead people . Whatever as long as they vote Democrat
Again, this is why I would propose a National Election Day, say for the first or second Saturday in November. Every time, every election. Sure, some people still work on weekends or may want the weekend free, but at least most people will then have the time to do this at their leisure.
Why can’t simple but effective ideas like this just happen or be proposed? Coming up with solutions is not that hard.
Yes, but a lot of people do want to participate in the process, so they hurry from work and run to their polling station. Why not, just have a weekend day, you can do it from 8am to 8pm? Done.
California Democratic Party did endorse Prop 10. Before that, I never thought that Prop 10 has any chance.
Majority of the democrats are against Prop 10, but officers in charge of the party endorsed it. So democratic leaders are going against their democratic members.
“According to the Public Policy Institute poll, only 25 percent of likely voters said they would vote for Proposition 10, down 11 percent from September. The measure needs 50 percent of voters to vote yes to pass. Around two in every three voters in Los Angeles do not support Prop 10.”
