The Chinese/Asian-American voting bloc in the Bay doesn’t know its own power.
I think the Asian people are waking up. Just the other day an old Chinese lady was shoved on a sidewalk and died. And we are called names just because we want some basic safety. Asian people are fed up with the virtue signaling progressives.
Batman in action in SF. People who do real work for a living are frustrated and someone was frustrated enough to do this.
He got some crucial stuff wrong at the beginning of the piece. SF is indeed run by commies aka Berniecrats. They have majority in board of supervisors and police commission. Like who on those powerful governing bodies have tech and business backgrounds? Very few.
Another thing I don’t share with him is that I actually think the doom loop narrative helps the city by focusing attention on real problems. I post mostly positive stuff on SF because those are real too. It’s not all doom and gloom but it’s also not all rainbow and roses. Media doom looping pressures the pols to act. My personal account of rainbow and roses set the scores straight somewhat.
In any case I am just disappointed at locals joining in the doom loops. They live right next to SF but didn’t bother to explore or understand it. And they all show a certain glee in seeing a beautiful city struggle, to make themselves feel smug of their own ideology.

Not making excuses, but shoot my lil sister got her rental car broken into in the South of France because duuuh she left their luggage in plain sight in their car!!! You simply can not do that anywhere!!!
THIS IS GUARANTEED TO STOP THE BREAK-INS BUT IT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN IN THIS SOFT ASS COUNTRY OF OURS: you do many sting operations and once you catch the unlucky MFers in plain sight with video proof, you PUT A LARGE CALIBER BULLET IN THEIR BACK OF THEIR HEADS AND THEN YOU CHARGE THEIR FAMILIES FOR THE BULLET.
I suspect the number of break-ins would dramatically come down… LOL
Sucks. sorry to hear that.
Naive people learn on the job…
On the flip side I’ve had visitors from the BA here in nowhereville who obsess over what to do with valuables in the car too bulky to carry when we park at attractions like the largest Travertine natural bridge in the world. I have to remind them that it’s all OK; they’re not in CA anymore.
What is the temp there now?
I’m at 5800 ft. Mid 90’s by mid day; high 60’s at night.
Phoenix is cooking, though not at record temperatures. But Phoenix is always a hell hole in summer. Flagstaff isn’t too hot and communities like Pine, Strawberry and Payson are reasonable. So are most of the communities along the 260 between Payson and Show Low.
I am crazy enough to want to be in Malaysia for maybe every half year in that humid heat so it will be interesting. I will just need to figure out what months are better in each respective spot. I could do as you do and go inland and go up in elevation where it is cooler and frankly really green and healthy but I want to see ocean if I live there.
Really?
Would be awesome if it’s a tech focused campus, sorta like Cornell’s campus in NYC.

It beats her idea of turning Westfield into a soccer field…
