Let’s be honest, these criminals “want” prison time. They get a bed and 3 square meals. We make prisons so soft now that they are practically country clubs.

While I agree, the Oakland attack happened under the previous DA. The current one would’ve probably released him without any prison time. 
And where did the $12k go? 
12k for a violent criminal. $0 and no sympathy for the old Chinese granny.
Though it’s a very bad incident, if bipolar and schizophrenia are true how does it come under criminal category?
Frankly, I don’t care and I have had enough of these “big tough guys” beating up on grandmas. We are simply too soft for our own good. We should just off these MFers and bill their pathetic parents the cost of the bullet. Society is NOT going to miss these MFers one sec.

Regardless, violent people need to be locked up whether or not mental illness is the cause of the violent behavior.
Ramsey did criminal acts and was a convicted felon. Apparently he is still a danger to society and should be put in either a jail or mental facility. He should not be released out to society until we are reasonably sure he won’t do harm to other people again.
How come he always targets Asian seniors? What about a slow walking granny a fraction of his size be viewed as a threat?
Agree with treatment in mental facility and should not be outside. Also the mental illness condition is used as defense by his attorneys, so don’t know how far it’s true.

The guy was from Oakland. He attacked the elderly Asian granny in SF.
These people need to be charged with hate crime. There is a pattern here. These ain’t merely “elder abuse”.
Getting people who assault others charged with any serious crime seems to be a challenge in urban centers these days. It used to be that assault and battery landed perpetrators in jail for a good long time; one didn’t need to add “hate” to it for that to happen. No one assaults someone because they love them.
Man, Trump could use some of these public defenders out of the Fab 7x7…
