I thought there’s issues with police data. People stopped reporting them, since they know the police won’t do anything. Insurance claim data is more accurate, since people file claims or the glass repair.
Crime number up: It’s bad out there. Criminals are out of control. Trust the data.
Crime number down: it’s bad out there. People just stop reporting crimes. Can’t trust the data.
If you question that, then you really haven’t been paying attention to anything.
I just have some issue with the “Heads I win, Tails you use” school of statistics.
People stopped reporting has been said for past few yrs. It did not start in 2023 so it implies some work is being done to control crime.

That’s a little old. If SF cut it in half, they’re still one of the worst cities. That’s crazy.
In that case you agree Nashville is almost 8 times more dangerous than San Diego or NYC? That’s crazy too right?
San Diego and NYC must be that safe.
It was amazing in the debate when DeSantis showed a printout of the app where people can report human feces on sidewalks in SF. What other city has that or even better needs that?
I have lived in SF for almost a decade and have never seen human feces on streets. Or needles for that matter. I am sure they exist somewhere but I don’t feel the need to go look for them. Funny that’s the limit of out-of-towner’s knowledge of SF. As if SF is just one big Tenderloin.
SF is the most techy city in the world. It has an app for anything. There was once an app that let people share parking meters. Not sure if it is still around.
I’m not sure where you live but:
The homeless aren’t just a tenderloin issue:
At this point, I’m doubting you even live in SF.
You think people just leave the human feces on the street after you report it to the city government? So SF is literally covered in feces 24/7?
Homelessness is a big problem in SF. Nobody denies that. But they don’t all live in tents. Some of them live in shelters, some live in their camper vans. Outside of a few well known trouble spots the homeless people don’t do drug in the open and don’t bother people. The median homeless person is just quietly staying inside their van and working some min wage job during the day.
Man, get off the Fab 7x7!!! Poop, or no poop, we are the best and you know it!!!
It’s all the places it’s been reported. You claim you’ve never seen it. You either don’t live in SF or never go outside.
You tried to claim the homeless are only an issues in the Tenderloin. That’s false too.
Speaking of going outside, I just came back from another round of rucking. Sorry, didn’t see no poop today.
Like I said, I am sure there is poop on some streets somewhere in SF sometime. I just don’t happen to see them. SF is actually pretty responsive on their 311 reports. So either the places that I go don’t get pooped on all that often, or if they did get pooped on they got cleaned up fast.
That map that goes around right wing media counts the number of reports in a year. Every one piece of poop could get multiple reports.
Either way I know what I see and I haven’t seen poop and needles in my almost 10 years of living in SF. But sure, rage on.
I guess your reality is the only one that matters. Data and other people’s reality is all fake.
Nope, I am not saying the data is fake either. Like I said many times, I am sure there is poop somewhere in SF.
What I am saying is just my own experience living here. Most of the problems that get widely reported are fairly localized. Like you can have rampant thefts going on in one Walgreens but barely half a mile away another Walgreens would be perfectly fine.
I don’t think I am the only person in SF not seeing poop in their day to day. SF has its share of problems but it’s not as grim as what the media protrays.
I have poop all over my yard but it’s from elk.
SF is easily one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
