San Francisco Is The Place To Be

Don’t disagree with that, just don’t go near Tenderloin or SOMA. It’s ok to not go there and stay only in the clean part of town, but the finances of the city still needs the downtown area to work and pay a ton of taxes to sustain the whole city and fund all the programs that the progressives want.

I think London Breed is trying to do the right thing here (for the most part). It’s the homeless advocates like Dean Preston and Jennifer Friedenbach that are really dragging every San Franciscan down the slippery slope.

San Francisco has an entire homeless industry complex feeding off tax payer money. We only need to flip a very small number of Supervisor seats to turn the politics around. My feeling on the ground is that the political wind has shifted and voters are ready for a change.

It was only last year we kicked Chesa out, and the new DA has been 10x better. Things are turning. But it won’t be overnight.

He clearly didn’t get the memo about SF and prefers to stay in LA. SF is doomed if Asian people prefer LA.

The fact they can change or eliminate 100 different rules just shows how insane SF has become. It’s also amusing to see politicians claiming victory for eliminating regulations they created in the first place. There shouldn’t have been a problem to solve in the first place.

“ An office building in downtown San Francisco has reportedly sold for about 60% less than its previous value — though it was at the center of a bidding war that drove its asking price up by 40%. ”

I’m sure the bulls will say it sold for 40% over asking! That’s amazing. Let’s just ignore it was 60% less than 2016 price.

Next US President’s accomplishment

“ Additionally, a 2023 report found that California has spent $20 billion fighting homelessness over the last five years.”

This is why I can’t take anyone serious when they think lack of money is the issue. Using it as an excuse to increase taxes on the rich is ignoring the ineffective and inefficient use of the spending.

“ “I know folks are saying, ‘Oh they’re just cleaning up this place because all those fancy leaders are coming to town,’” Newsom said at that time. “That’s true, because it’s true – but it’s also true for months and months and months before APEC [Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit], we’ve been having conversations.””

Oh, so they’ve been having conversations for months and months. Wow, that’s groundbreaking.

Since people love stories of one person over actual data:

That was in the Marina district for those who insist all the crime is in the Tenderloin. It happened just after 5PM, so it wasn’t late at night either.

I love how letting kids roam around the city was compared to letting them lose at sports. Yeah, being a victim of violent crime is totally the same as losing a soccer match.

Why on earth doesn’t the city just hire him as one of their cleaners? Also, how are sidewalks getting that dirty so fast?

"“I told myself when I retired, I was going to come to Ellis Street and smoke weed with the fellas,” he said. “Everybody else had a tent, and I was like, ‘I’m going to get a tent too.’”

Now that’s classic.

The Left doesn’t want you driving cars anyway so it’s all good.

Or, in other words for you hoops fans…

Literally “San Francisco is the place to be” if you want to get your startup funded.

New twist in the SF homeless saga. Can’t sweep no more.

SF = Sanctuary For… homeless and illegal immigrants?

Supreme Court is weighing in.

The U.S. Supreme Court agreed on Friday to reexamine Johnson v. Grants Pass, a case that reaffirmed the rights of homeless people to sleep outside.

The decision to take up the case follows lobbying by Gov. Gavin Newsom, the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office and other local advocates who had urged the court to clarify the tangle of laws governing how cities can respond to homeless encampments.

Chance of reversing the absurd 9th Circuit ruling is high:

Anna-Rose Mathieson, a partner at Complex Appellate Litigation Group and a former clerk for the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, noted that the Supreme Court reverses decisions in about 70% of cases it agrees to review.

Oh, the irony that SF is asking for help from Trump appointed justices when all they did was bitch about how Trump wasn’t their president. The 9th circuit has more rulings overturned than any circuit court. They are essentially left-wing activists with zero regard for anything else.
