Oakland should probably send some cops to that infamous gas station near the airport, instead of changing name to fool people.
One might think if you conduct a few undercover police sting operations there, it might send a message? I mean, that is what the Fab 7x7 did. Essentially said, enough is enough. Undercover cops and highway patrol cops in and pulling criminals off the streets. The street gets the message that the police in the Fab 7x7 are serious now, so maybe lets’ go elsewhere. It’s really not rocket science…
Oakland is lagging several years behind SF. They still have that criminal-loving DA and a do-nothing mayor. Let’s see how the recall goes this November.
Oakland sucks for a reason.
City is bouncing back. Second rate cities like Austin have gotten too expensive for what they offer. And people are finding relative bargains in the most beautiful city on earth.
Is…
…because it is a top rated crime city
…because it has a solution to high crime rate. Prop 47 Don’t call it a crime
Crime is beautiful… people are free to take drug and commit crime… sympathetic to drug dealers…

I don’t see SF on this list of top 20 cities with highest violent crime rates.
What about so-called property crimes? Do they not count?

The share of San Francisco sellers losing money on their home sale is sitting near its highest level in more than a decade, largely because prices have come back down to earth after skyrocketing during the pandemic. Nationwide, the share of sellers...

Local Redfin Premier agent Christine Chang said San Francisco’s market is stumbling more than other parts of the Bay Area.
“It’s not just because mortgage rates are high. San Francisco has lost some of its appeal post-pandemic. A lot of tech employers and big-name retailers have moved out of the city, and some of my clients have reported they’re leaving the area because they don’t feel as safe as they used to.”
Stats in table represent the three months ending Feb. 29, 2024

Texas House Prices Feel the Sting (newsweek.com)
At least we have so much capital appreciation over the years (SFHs, I don’t care about condos) that some correction was bound to happen. Honestly, we really don’t care. We ain’t selling anyway. Not at 2.50% at less than $100K to go…
What I observed these couple of months is that there is a bifurcation of two SF markets:
1: The downtown condos are selling sluggishly at massive discounts, but
2: The SFH’s on the west side of SF like Sunset, West Portal etc are selling like hotcakes at healthy markups.
So you can pick examples in either camp for your narrative and you won’t be wrong.
Here’s an example of category 2:
San Francisco has long been feared to be falling into a doom loop, a situation where taxpayers leaving the crime-ridden city results in lower tax revenues leading to cuts in services and rising taxes, making it even less desirable to live in. It can...
OMG, can you registered SF voters get this moron out of office??? Please!!!
At least it is a positive %. I will take it.
