Secular inflation is here

UK is that poor?

It was 60 years ago. Hadn’t yet recovered from WW2 and the socialists that took over after Churchill.

It’s a preview of things to come for millions of Americans if we stay on the same course.

BTW - paid $6.29 for a loaf of thin slice bread at the Safeway yesterday. OK, it was Daves, which along with Orowheat are the king and queen of bread if you don’t make it yourself. But the same loaf was well under $5 last year.

I don’t get why Europe doesn’t have their own natural gas. They should have started drilling when Russia invaded Ukraine.

0.75% raise is priced in.

It’s amazing how quickly the narrative about supply chains and shortages pivoted to excess inventory.

Well, yes, but the excess inventory is caused at least in part by consumers squeezed by inflation.

that is the bread I buy and OUCH, yes, the price has definitely shot up. I also see it at the local Taqueria - a plate of 2 tacos with rice beans guac sour cream is $18!

They still only paying me $18/hr base so I need some inflation in my paycheck :joy:

Not even 3 loaves of bread an hour….

Chick-fil-a is hiring at $22/hr here.

Luckily I don’t eat expensive sliced bread :bread:

Making your own is best. Maybe 0.70 a loaf. Don’t buy “whole wheat” flour; it isn’t. Buy hard winter wheat and a hand grinder. The whole house will smell like fresh bread when you’re done and it will be the best tasting loaf you ever had. Likely too crumbly for making sandwiches though.

I know but I like to work harder for less money.
